What: Earthquake

Summary: It was requested that a general reactionary log be tossed up when the quake happens so people can react in their own way without having a zillion posts. Individual posts are obviously still fine, but this might help people out.
Rating: Uh. G? PG for maybe violence and language? idk. /awesome at

[There is an earthquake! And it is collapsing stuff! Go forth and save yourseeeeelves!

[Jenny carefully makes her way over to the pile the Doctor is buried in, giving K-9 a pat, and praising him before starting to carefully pick through the debris in order to free her dad.]

I'm fine, so no worries. I've got to get you out though.

[As she helps pick away at everything, the Doctor scrambles the best he can until he can feel whatever's got him stuck start to loosen up. Then the beam that's on his back slides off and out of the way, making him able to push himself up so he can get better leverage.]

Well, now. What a rush that was, yeah? [Come on, foot - ah, yes. There we go. Dirty, mangled, and bruised. But otherwise all right! Brilliant.] Were we the only ones home?

[She tries to help him out.]

Yeah, I think so, though it looks like that earthquake hit just about the whole village, so it's possible the others might have ended up in the same situation as us even if they weren't here in the house.

[Legs! He's still got legs! And they work! Therefor he stands, and after rubbing away dirt, dust, and other such grime away from his eyes, takes a good look to scope out his surroundings. It doesn't take long for the whole weight of the situation to settle upon him. He goes from looking and feeling relieved, to both inquisitive and concerned.]

If it wasn't just here then, hm. [Even though the Doctor was just buried, he decides he has to press his ear to the ground. Just to get all his bases covered while he's figuring things out.] There must be something going on down below. The soil seems to be not much unlike what's on Earth - but I honestly have no idea what could be below us. Regardless, something shifted down there - something big. Especially if it was able to do damage at such an enormous scale. What do you suppose could've caused this?

[Now he stands up like a normal person. And brushes himself off. It doesn't do much, he's pretty dirty anyway.]

Anyway. You look like you're alright. [But he goes over her quickly with the screwdriver anyway.] Well- as alright as anyone could be in this predicament. We should probably go look around for everyone else and try to help best we can. I know something must be damaged, but I honestly can't feel a thing. [He laughs a little at that.] Let's see who all we can find.

K-9-! [He kneels down the best he can.] Go look for people we know down by the river. Make sure everyone's okay. If someone approaches you and they're hurt, tell them I'm a doctor. And try to find me.

Now, then! [He offers Jenny an arm because she's got the bad leg.] Shall we?

Whatever caused this, I get the feeling it originated from somewhere in the tunnels. I know there's always things going on down there.

[Jenny nods in agreement to look for everyone, but she doesn't take his arm. She's far too proud and independent to depend on that kind of support, and so, she starts limping off. Now if only she could run. She really wishes she could.]

C'mon. About time we find everyone, yeah? Make sure they're all right.

[Jack comes running up, his face paling as he sees the destruction of their house. He sighs in relief as he spots the two of them.] Doctor! Jenny! Are you both all right?

[Brightens considerably upon seeing that Jack is okay.] Far better than we could be. [Smirk.] Jenny's got a bit of a limp though.

[Which is said in a tone of "Damn it, Jenny LET ME HELP YOU I AM YOUR FATHER AND YOU ARE HURT AND THAT MAKES ME VERY VERY VERY SAD", etc. Also a pointed fatherly Look in her direction.]

But yes, I'm fine - she's generally fine as well. So! Now the questions at hand are first of all, we ought to make sure others are okay, and secondly - what exactly are we going to do about the house? I've seen them get destroyed before and be repaired but nothing quite like, well, this. [Theatrical gesturing! - okay that might have hurt a little. Broken ribs didn't like that. But that's okay he'll just tone down the theatrics.]

[Jenny just ignores her father's tone. After all, there are more important things to worry about right now. However, she is happy to see that Jack is okay, and it shows on her face.]

Well, simply put, we'll have to rebuild it. That's what Jr. and I did last time when the house was trampled into ruin. But making sure everyone is okay comes first.

[Jack looks over the both of them, his hand automatically coming up to brush over the Doctor's shoulder.] I'm going to see if anyone else needs help getting free. There are people trapped in the rubble. But I had to make sure you were all right.

We should set a place to regroup and meet once we've done what we can. You two both seem like you've got injuries... and don't try to tell me you're fine.

We'll heal quickly enough. [Which is said a little dismissively and he takes a quick look around.]

But yes, that's a rather excellent idea. Why don't we meet by the-... [lol so much destruction! sob] Blimey.

Is there anything not destroyed?

We'll have to find out, but I think the best option for a meeting place at the moment is right here. I imagine we can all find our way back to the house even if it's just rubble. Besides, we're eventually going to have to start cleaning up this mess.

[She sighs as she looks at the demolished house.]

Looks like I'll have to build some sort of temporary shelter again. Either that or we could make use of the caves in the mountains.

[Jack nods to the suggestion.] It's hard to tell what landmarks might still be standing. We'll meet back here before dark, okay? If you can't find shelter elsewhere, start building something here for us.

[Leaning in, he gives the Doctor a quick kiss on the cheek.] Try to stay out of trouble. Both of you. [He smiles brightly at them both.] This is what we're best at, right? Saving the world type stuff.

Of course! [The Doctor smirks in a knowing way.] Same goes for you as well.

[And he goes to climb on something so he can get a good look around.]
