hi, guess what failmod slept in

Who: Everyone!
What: Earthquake
When: The morning of the quake and beyond
Where: ...Everywhere?
Summary: It was requested that a general reactionary log be tossed up when the quake happens so people can react in their own way without having a zillion posts. Individual posts are obviously still fine, but this might help people out.
Rating: Uh. G? PG for maybe violence and language? idk. /awesome at

[There is an earthquake! And it is collapsing stuff! Go forth and save yourseeeeelves!

...Okay yeah I've got nothing. You guys know what to do. Can be action or full log style. HAVE AT. And sorry for lateness -_-;]

[—which is when the sharp hunk of rock comes hurtling through the rapids and cracks exactly the wrong way against the back of his head. Stars burst across his vision, swiftly followed by blackness.]

[Save various trees attempting to give her a heart attack every few seconds? Such relief when she hits the river bank, hauling herself up onto it with ease with the extra boost provided by Zoro. The ground isn't exactly the safest thing in the world but it isn't the river and for a moment she just wants to stretch out on it and revel in the fact that she's not drowning.

It's almost enough that she misses the sudden jerk of Zoro's hands at her waist and then the sudden loosening of his grip.]

[--almost.]

What the hell do you think--Zoro! [Bless fast reaction times, because she's lunging for his hand as he starts to slide under the water, snagging his wrist just in time. And the weight and added drag is sharp enough that she's wrenched forward, sliding on the grass before she manages to anchor herself at the edge of the bank with one hand and tries to pull him up with the other.

Not entirely working, that idea. But at least she can stop him from going under.

...shit. He's actually out?]

Zoro! Zoro! Snap out of it!

[His eyelids flicker, dark irises showing and rolling briefly, pupils blown and slightly mismatched—then he sags, head lolling forward and yeah, he's back out. The heavy bleeding that dropping forward makes visible should go some way toward explaining his current, highly uncharacteristic bout of unconsciousness. The fact that by some unlucky stroke of luck his unusually hard skull has actually been fractured would go further, but he's in no shape to say anything about it.

Heavy, muscled deadweight here for the moment, Nami, sorry.]

[There is panic there, bright and bubbling-- Zoro doesn't do unconscious, he's seriously hurt-- before she forces it back and focuses on keeping her grip on his wrist.

She can pull him up, she thinks - she just needs better leverage. And so she works on inching her way backwards on the ground until her arms are stretched across the ground, until she's sure enough of her position that she can let go of her deathgrip of the grass and latch on to Zoro with both hands, now. And he's so goddamned heavy - but after a few seconds she manages to pull him close enough to scrabble for a better grip, hands hooking under his arms instead.

Her own muscles are screaming in protest, and pretty sure she's going to want to curl up in a corner and rest her back after this. But she can do this. A few moments more and she's managed to haul him half up to the bank with her, out of the water and safe-- just a little bit more--]

[--and that's when the entire shelf of the riverbank she's flattened on gives a shudder and then finally drops under the added stress, sending them both back into the river.

Safe is a relative word.]

[There's that half second of her mind clutching at all sorts of different straws before the water closes over her head. And the only thing she can think of to do is wrap her arms around an unconscious swordsman so she doesn't lose him in the river.

That's if either of them survive.

Five seconds later, the only sign they were ever there is one solitary piece of climatact half buried in the mulch that used to be a nice, shady spot of riverbank. The other two pieces, her towel, their journals, Zoro's swords, the two of them --

--utterly gone.]
