Who:
cheerhimup and
soulbait
What: A New Feather has arrived today
When: November 13th, morning
Where: Ciel's house
Summary: Lizzie wakes up in Ciel's house, the Malnosso were nice enough to leave her in a familiar place
Rating: PG
[In her short life, Lizzie had woke up before the maid came to wake her up several times, but never had her maid delayed as it was delaying now. Never had her bed felt so strange, foreign even, not even when she slept in Ciel's place. And never had she woken up with back ache.
She waited, unable to tell for how long, until the light that filtered through the closed window annoyed her enough. Why hasn't anyone come yet? Her feet find the carpet under them as she climbs out of bed, where are her slippers? No matter how much she pats, she can't find them and eventually gives up and moves around barefoot. In the darkness it's hard to move, the room feeling foreign and different, it's hard to get her window to open, but it eventually gives in. When she finally allows the light to wash over her and the room, the very sight is enough to unsettle her.
The place that welcomes her sight isn't London. Wherever she is it's not one of the houses of her family, nor Ciel's mansion.
Eventually she turns to the room and further beyond its closed door, which wasn't locked. Has she been kidnapped? Brought somewhere far away from home? From mom and Ciel? But then why isn't the door locket? She walks through the hall, her hands finding an empty vase somewhere along the way as she explores, trying to find a way out, even if she's unsure of what she could do once she got out. It's not as if she recognizes the city where she is right now, but she assumes that getting away from that house would be the first step. So long as she finds a carriage she probably will be able to go back home or to Ciel's place.
As she turns a corner she hears it, a muffled voice, or maybe it's just a fragment of her imagination. Still she turns towards it and follows the way up to a closed door that again isn't locket. Pushing it softly, she lets it open, revealing the person at the other side.

CIEL?!!!!!
[The vase crashes against the floor.]

gownshirt and he didn't even put his eyepatch on yet. He'd been traversing parts of the house for a while now, muttering to himself, knowing the guy should be around somewhere-Well, now he thought about it, he hasn't seen him since last night, has he? He went to bed alone after willing some inane task on Sebastian. True, he had grown some more skills here but- But.
He'd even ordered the demon to appear. He hasn't. But the real shock was when he entered the butler's room. Ciel is wide-eyed for a while, staring into the empty closet. No cats, not even his suits.]
Sebastian... No- ... [Yeah, this is horrifying, but then the vase dropping draws his attention somewhere else. He turns wildly, still wide-eyed-]
Elizabeth?! [No that's- not possible...
...And yes, his contract is exposed if you're one to take note of such things. But realizing this, he quickly throws up a hand to cover his eye. This is almost as reflexive as. Well. What the hell is she-]

She pushes the thought to the back of her mind as he quickly covers it. It was for a second after all and now it's not a time for that, right? Besides there's also the issue of the wings... She had noticed her own by now but hadn't wanted to touch them, to see if they were real because if she didn't then maybe it would all just be a dream. But he had wings too. Black and on his back, moving with him. As if being part of him...
But her mind locks those thoughts for later. For now she focuses on what's right in front of her. Ciel. Ciel is here. Wherever here is. He's there, standing in his nightgown, surprised to see her just as she's surprised to see him. Without his eyepatch or Sebastian's shadow around him.]

She already knew that. She had seen it with her own eyes and had thought that she was alone. But somehow it hadn't fully hitted her until now.
Ciel had been kidnapped again. And she had been taken with him. Everyone back home must be deadly worried now, mom, dad, Sebastian, Ciel's servants... And right after they thought Sebastian was dead, just when they thought that the bad thing had been avoided. This happens. The children taken from them.
Her mother is going to kill someone for this. Lizzie knows that and part of her is relieved. They will be rescued in no time, right?
But this has happened before. Ciel was kidnapped, taken from them all... And they had given up on him. Everyone had been so sure that he had died, even if his body wasn't found, even if Lizzie cried and yelled, sure that he was still alive somewhere... What if they were giving up on them again now? Or even worse... What if her parents were dead just like Ciel's parents had been killed when he was taken? She can't remember, she doesn't know what happened when she was kidnapped. What if her house had been burned too?
What... What is going to happen to them? Who had taken them? Fear clutches her heart as she thinks about it all and stares at a wide-eyed Ciel... Why had them been kidnapped?]
no subject
How often had she wanted to be taken to where he was during the time he had been missing? Even as everyone told her that he was dead, she knew he wasn't. She felt it in her heart and wanted to go with him since no one would go to bring him back to her. Sebastian had done it, he had taken Ciel back to her... But he's nowhere to be seen now.
They are alone. But at least they are together.
Whatever happens... Even if they are killed or something horrible... She is with Ciel.
She launches herself forward, clinging to his neck desperately. She's so scared. She's terrified. And sad, and worried. But she's so happy. Ciel is there. She's allowed to be with Ciel. Even if it's to face a horrible future, even if they are away from hom. She'll be with Ciel.]
Thank God, thank God, thank God...
[She cries... And still manages to laugh at the same time. Hugging him tightly, making sure that he's there indeed. With her. That she's with him. And all she says is a thanks to God, because this has been his work, right? Even if it's for something bad, God has allowed her her deepest wish... That if Ciel was taken ever again she would be taken too. Nothing else matters. She's with Ciel. She'll be always with him. Even if that always is just for a short time. She would go anywhere if it meant that she could be with Ciel after all, even if it meant that she had to climb down to hell. Because being with Ciel was heaven enough for her.]

Elizabeth! Wha-!
[Get off him, woman. ...Or at least he wants to say that, but his gusto isn't working quite right. Plus, well.]

And she too has wings...?
He really can't bring himself to speak. He's trying so hard not to just collapse into a pile of pathetic goop right now]

So she keeps hugging him, making sure that he's there. He's solid and warm. He's there, with her. Calling her full name, even if she always tells him to call her Lizzie, just like always. And she keeps crying, because in the confussion of feelings she has there's nothing else she can do.]
Ciel... Thank God. I'm so... I'm so relieved. So happy...
[But she's scared as well. Terrified.]
I'm so scared Ciel... Where are we? Who brought us here?
[She finally pulls a little to look at him again, closer. Her face obviously worried for his well being.]
Are you okay?

But to think that she- This- She doesn't belong here. He might not want to be here, but at least-]

Get off! I am fine.

Ciel... Why do we have wings?
[Stupid question, she knows. How is he going to know that? She shakes her head.]
Have you seen who brought us here?

It seems we weren't locked down... Do you think we can get to a carriage to go back home?
[Oh, maybe the doors to the outside are locked...]
Ah, the window of the room I woke up in isn't locked! We could get out through there?

The whole village kidnapped us?

How can someone kidnap a whole village? I didn't see any huge walls to stop people from leaving.

You already went that far? In your nightgown?

You heard of others? Did you wake up that early?
[Obviously she thinks he arrived at the same time as her. It's natural after all, they were together at the not!funeral.]
no subject
He's gone? But that's impossible. Impossible]

Why does he seem so troubled? He seems almost sick... What if... What if the people who kidnapped them did something to him? Or hit his head or something? That could be really dangerous! But if Ciel really is so confused about the time and how long has it been and all...]
no subject
M-Months? Ahaha, that's a really long time Ciel! Isn't it a bit too long, maybe?
I mean, it hasn't been that long since we were celebrating that Sebastian was fine, right?
[The previous night in fact but maybe if she gets him himself to realize it...]

To my recollection, the most recent time we spent together was when you visited and requested we go on a boat ride together. We invited Ms. Hopkins [Nina, that is] to the manor in order to ready me new attire for the occasion. I awoke in this village sometime after the end of that day.
[Okay... he keeps his eye locked on her while the other is hidden with his hand... he needs his eyepatch]
This sort of discrepancy is not unheard of in Luceti, the village we are in now. In this village people are taken from across both worlds and time by the kidnappers here.

[Even if he had vanished somehow, it certainly didn't amount up to months.
She listens to the rest of his explanation though. A small confused frown in her face as he talks. It makes no sense, it's just hard to understand. People are taken from different worlds and times? And no one back home notices them gone because they eventually return and no time has past?]
But... You were there. You were home, with me, with Sebastian and everyone else... Always... How could you be gone for months? Do you mean that you were taken and then returned to us without no one noticing? Then why are 'you' still here?

Lizzie remains silent after that. She has nothing to say at the moment. Ciel was there, back home with her and everyone. And yet he had been taken, even if eventually returned, she, who had been taken later than him, was meeting him in this prison. And no one would notice her gone either. Not even Ciel who was still home in her time. Because he was still locked here are the same time.
Why? Why is it that something keeps taking Ciel away from her? Taking him into unhappy places? Doing horrible things to him? And she never came to know even a bit of it all. At least now... At least now they will suffer together, right? At least now she can keep fighting the unhappiness that chases Ciel and keeps cheating on her to win him over.]

gownshit. He heads to the door]There is much else you need to know, come.
[Yes, his voice is harder than it probably should be but it's hard to feel nice right now]
no subject
She has to be strong. She can't cry, what would that serve now? Crying won't make her return and even if it did then she would be leaving Ciel alone, wouldn't she? But if she smiles she will fill the place with happiness, right? If she fights for it, happiness will come. Smiles always make everything better. It would make Ciel see that she's fine, even if she's not, he wouldn't have to worry if she's fine and happy, right?
She stands up and follows, still not saying a word. Trying to gather energy again to smile once more. Focus in the positive things. Focus in the only positive thing. Ciel and her are together. That's all that matters, right?]

You no doubt awoke with a book like this near you. It will be important in future.

[Reading: I don't know what you're talking about. She had better things to do than to check for strange books near her.]

Uh... Maybe I should go somewhere else? I mean... We are engaged but... To live the two of us together and alone...
[She herself might ignore it if he does so but only if he does.]

As you wish, Ciel.
[She's not even going to complain about the name this time. Ciel was too serious and defensive about it, that basically screams 'Do not press' territory.]

You would do well to read that document.

We have been branded?

We have. [And here, he flips back his hair a little to display the back of his neck for her]
