Psychobabble;;
Who: Near and Mello.
What: Uh. Mello finding Near so he can be a jerk.
When: Today in the afternoon.
Where: Uhm. Close to where Near is staying, I assume.
Summary: Because no one has good intentions every second of their lives.
Rating: PG-13 for swearing.
Mello was extremely irritated.
Initially, when he first arrived, he had been pissed the fuck off. Not only had he died (Matt, too, for that matter), but he ended up in some place that probably resembled the average sod's Heaven; residents were complete with wings and everything. Fucking wings. He felt like a little girly ponce with the damn things sticking out of his back. Not that he could do much about it, but it was well enough of a reason to be angry at just about everything.
He also realized all too late that he didn't have his gun. Or his mobile. Or any chocolate, for that matter. Clothes also seemed slightly scarce.
Thankfully, though, he had eventually nicked a half decent outfit from a shop. Well, at least it had been until Mello realized a little too late things were free anyway. Although he definitely knew why the food was; the chocolate was absolute shit. Like the crap the Americans called chocolate; nothing like what he was used to in England.
It didn't matter, though, because he eventually started to adjust to it. He declined to talk to anyone, it was easier to observe and watch to see what everyone else was doing before making his move; he'd learned that the hard way.
Although that was definitely the last thing on his mind as he strolled down the street, watching the houses as he went. There was one in particular he was looking for; after all, he had to relieve his tension and anger somehow, and this seemed like the most appropriate way.
Smirk curled across his lips as he went up to the door, knocking ever-so-lightly. He thought he was being incredibly good at not letting go of his temper too quickly.

Isn't this what Near had wanted? A new puzzle, a bigger challenge, a chance to prove that he wouldn't make the same careless mistakes as he did on the Kira case. Since he'd been trapped here, Near had done his fair share of thinking, if the wooden figures he'd carved and left lying strewn across the floor were anything to go by. And yet he couldn't figure much out other than what was already common knowledge, and he was still no closer to coming to a definitive conclusion other than... well... he'd have to wait and see.
Near had always been aware of his weaknesses, physically and otherwise. However, he had also always been able to compensate in other ways. But his intelligence didn't seem to be doing him much good without more information, and without his team he was left utterly vulnerable as well. It was frustrating. What do to...
Looking up as he heard a knock on he door, Near frowned slightly. Who would that be? Standing slowly, he walked to the other side of the room to open the door. Room 1, Floor 1, Building 1. The number seemed to taunt him. Turning the door knob and pulling the door open toward him, Near blinked. It was Mello. Of course Mello. Possibly the last person he wanted to see, despite his curiosity as to how Mello had ended up in his place twice.
Blankly, Near looked at him, fingers idly twirling through his hair. “What do you want?” Near asked, though he had an idea of the reason.
