Log: Lavi/Allen (Unfinished)

What: Allen has a mild heart attack from seeing Lavi alive. =D
When: Only a little after arrival.
Where: Near their house~
Summary: Allen goes GLOMP! =D ...Er, and gets fed. Hopefully. Allen wants food, he does~

A house... Lavi was at a house, that much Allen knew. Lavi, here, alive!

Allen bit his lip as he turned. He had remembered being inside a house when he first arrived, though he left to forage for food, to no avail. Picking a likely direction and praying to whomever would listen that he wouldn't get lost for once, he ran, eyes wide and heart pounding.

"LAAAAAVIIIIIII~ LAVI, WHERE ARE YOU?"

Lavi had only wandered a few steps away from the house, warily looking around at the new surroundings. This was different from the Ark, he was sure... was it the new Ark, perhaps? Had they all been downloaded? But if that was the case, what purpose did these wings serve?

Hearing a familiar voice calling his name, Lavi turned toward some trees near the back of the house. "Allen... ALLEN!" he yelled, running toward where he'd heard the other boy.

Allen could barely believe his ears, though he spun towards the sound. He wanted to cry, perhaps, or to laugh, or both, but all he could do was to stare in shock and wonder, before he was running and running, tears gathering in his eyes.

"LAVI...!"

Seeing the other boy running toward him, Lavi grinned and waved. "Hey, Allen!" He hurried toward him as well, his new wings fluttering excitedly.

"Lavi...!" Tears in his eyes, Allen flew -- almost literally -- at the older boy, wrapping his arms tightly around him before daring to breathe. All this time, he was still afraid that perhaps he read wrong, or heard wrong, or was just somehow deluding himself. "I saw you fall. I... I thought I'd lost you..."

Holding tightly to the other boy, Lavi closed his eyes as his last memories flooded back... the sensation of freefall, his hope of being saved when Allen grabbed the hammer, then the shock and resignation when his Innocence broke and he tumbled into nothing... and Allen's anguished scream echoing above him... "Thought I was lost," he said, his voice subdued from his normal cheer. "Hey..." He pulled back slightly, trying to meet Allen's eyes, but still holding him around his waist. "We ain't dead, are we? I mean, Yuu said this ain't heaven..."

"I don't know where this is." With a tiny blush and a surreptitious glance around, Allen drew closer, voice soft, tear-filled eyes downcast. "I thought I'd never see you again. I... I'm sorry."

"Hey..." Lavi held him close, still a little shaken from the memories and the shock of this place. "S'okay, yeah? We're both here... wherever it is." He rubbed his back lightly, under the wings. "Heh... I didn't think I'd see anybody or anythin' ever again." Closing his eyes, he shivered lightly.

"I should have thought sooner..." Allen bit his lip, tentatively resting his head against Lavi's shoulder, relaxing under his touch. This was real, he knew, and the past was behind, but there were words that still needed to be said, apologies and regrets that burned in his heart. "I was shocked. I failed..."

"What?" Lavi was confused as to why Allen was apologizing. "What're you talkin' about?" He let the younger boy keep leaning on him, however, and continued moving his hand lightly over his back.

"I... thought you died..." Allen clung a little more tightly, face buried against Lavi's shoulder, now caring less what others may see or think. "Lenalee... I kept her from falling, and... if I'd thought of it earlier, if I hadn't been too busy staring and screaming, maybe I could have..."

"Hey now," Lavi shook his head with a sigh. "You can't go blamin' yourself over ifs and maybes, yeah? You did what you could... we both did. Never would'a expected my hammer to break like that. We both figured it'd be okay, I'd be able to pull me n'Chaoji up if you caught it like that. But it broke. That ain't your fault at all." He tightened his arms around him slightly. "So stop that. S'okay now."

"I won't let it happen again," Allen mumbled, voice muffled by the other's shoulder. He blushed from the contact, close, warm, skin on bare skin, and shivered despite the heat rising to his cheeks. "How can I claim to save anyone if I can't even protect the people closest to me?"

"Allen," Lavi sighed. "Stoppit. No use blamin' yourself over this kinda thing. You would'a saved me if my Innocence hadn't broken... how could you see that comin', huh? So stop." He reached up and ruffled his hair lightly. "And... we're both here now, yeah? S'all good."

"Mm." Allen made a noncommittal sound, a light blush returning as the ruffling in his hair reminded him of their position, and he quickly pulled away, blush deepening. "Y-yeah. We're both here."

Realizing that was the best he was going to get from the other boy for right now, Lavi grinned and stepped back. "Hey, whaddya say we try to find some clothes and then go get somethin' to eat, huh?" He nodded back toward the house. "I think I saw some stuff in there... I dunno if I'm supposed to be stayin' there or what, but it looks okay for now."

Allen's eyes lit up at the talk of food as his stomach gave a rather vocal agreement. It was rather cold as well, and he shivered, drawing close once again to the older boy, though it made his blush re-form. "Mm, good idea. We can find out what happened after we eat..."
