Who: [Bad username or site: fortunefail title=Yuan @ livejournal.com] and [Bad username or site: imatreenow title=Mithos @ livejournal.com]
What: Confrontation!~
When: The 29th of December, some time after this. (yes, we enjoy backdating)
Where: House #8.
Summary: Mithos flips his shit after Yuan gets his Cruxis Crystal back and goes to investigate.
Rating: Rated T to be safe, idk.

[Yuan hadn't wasted much time in retrieving his Cruxis Crystal. He knew it wouldn't take long before Mithos would be alerted by the little girl's message. Now that his precious crystal's been returned to him, he makes sure to give it a good lookover before equipping it again. For all he knows, Mithos sabotaged it and planted it out there for anyone to find. He twists and turns it in his fingers, inspecting the ancient runes inscribed in the Keycrest to make sure nothing's amiss... But it all seems fine.

If Mithos didn't lose it on purpose, that means he's looking for it as well. Would the little girl have told him who came to retrieve him? Yuan warned her about Mithos, but he doesn't trust her to lead him astray. If she told him, will he pay a little visit to Yuan's house? After the bodyswap incident, he knows where Yuan lives.

Only time will tell, but if Mithos does decide to stop by, Yuan will be ready for him.]

[That's one thing Yuan is right about at least. It wasn't long at all before Mithos was throwing on his warmer cloak for the outdoors and grabbing his sword, already halfway out the door. He is definitely in a hurry, so it doesn't take long to cross the village either.

It may seem like a terrible idea, going to confront Yuan when A) he, Yuan, has a Cruxis Crystal and B) he, Mithos, does not, but desperation can entice one into a whole slew of terrible ideas. There isn't going to be another clean opportunity to get his hands on such power. And he needs that if he wants to be able to protect Martel, her dreams, and himself. He isn't going to give in to defeat so easily.

When Mithos arrives at House 8, he grabs the door handle and shakes it violently. Of course, it's locked. But he's just going to keep at it. Add some yelling to the noise.]

Open this door! I know you're in there!

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[The consequences don't concern Mithos too much. He died once for Martel's sake, and he's willing to do so again. Choose the same path, again, and again. Because if he can't protect Martel, what is there even left for him? As soon as Yuan opens the door, Mithos unsheathes his sword and points its blade very deliberately toward Yuan.]

Give it back! Give that Cruxis Crystal back to me! [In his mind, it had already been rightfully his the moment he detached it from Yuan's body. What right did a traitor have to possess power so glorious?]

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Martel would want me to have it!

[That's enough talking, as far as he is concerned. As he finishes that sentence - every word of it absolutely and completely true of course - he swings his sword, aiming for Yuan's side. He may not have his angelic strength, but he definitely still knows his way around a sword.]

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[Mithos ducks to the side, jumping backward at the same time. At such proximity, though, he can't fully dodge the lightening and it grazes his shoulder. He grits his teeth against the shock.

Well, he's out now.

But if Yuan thinks he's going to back down... Mithos is already launching another attack, going for the shoulder this time.]

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
[He holds his sword out in front of him, prepared for Yuan to attack. His glare exudes palpable levels of hatred and rage, all directed at the traitor standing before him, all stemming from the terrible injustice suffered at the hands of his sister.]

How many times must you get in my way?

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[When he sees that Yuan isn't going to come after him, Mithos has absolutely no qualms with going after him instead. This is the first chance he's had to properly fight against Yuan, to release the pent-up boiling-point anger. ...As satisfying as it had been to kick him in the stomach while he was down that night at Altessa's. This is slightly different. Then, he had still been foolishly caught up in Martel's old wish to keep him alive. Surely, after everything that happened proceeding that night, she didn't care anymore.]

Then know that you stand in Martel's way as well! [He charges, going for the shoulder again. At the last moment, he changes the direction of his blade to aim it into Yuan's side.]

[Mithos takes Yuan's lack of retort to mean that he does accept responsibility for turning his back against Martel. As he should. It doesn't make him any less unforgivable. Mithos just takes some small satisfaction in imagining Yuan writhing in a torrent of guilt. Suffering.

Before he has the chance to turn away and return to a defensive stance, he feels Yuan's hand take hold of his wing. Having been moving in the opposite direction, it hurts quite a bit to be pulled back like that. He sharply sucks in his breath. But doesn't waste any time before jabbing his sword behind him. He won't try to pull himself free and cause unnecessary pain to himself.]

[Just as he attempts again to maneuver his blade into Yuan's body (slash, stab, slit any part at all), he is stopped completely by a sudden jolt of pain originating from his back. Grunting, Mithos almost loses his grip on his sword, but then clenches it more tightly to brace against the pain.

Despite the pain that may come from forcibly tearing himself from Yuan's grasp, he has to get away. It would only be worse to let Yuan hold him there. Lacking his Cruxis Crystal, though, his reflexes are unfortunately not as sharp as his former friend's. He starts to pull away, but before he can really do so that obnoxious saber is barred across his chest. Trapped.

It is repulsive how helpless he feels upon that realization. At the mercy of Yuan, of all people. He may not be able to move his body much for fear of slicing himself open on Yuan's blade, but he can still move his mouth, and he still struggles to reach Yuan with his own sword.]

You miserable, disgusting traitor!

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[The second time hurts even more and this time Mithos really does let go of his sword. Which really is the last thing he needs. It falls uselessly into the snow at his feet. There aren't even words to describe how much he hates Yuan right now. But he hasn't quite reached the maximum capacity for hatred just yet, as he finds when Yuan hisses his threats, and again when the blade nears his throat. Now there really are no words. Another great misfortune: Yuan can't even see the look of pure murderous loathing on his face.]

Don't you dare give me orders! Who do you think you are, threatening me like that? Do you think I'll stoop so low as to listen to you?

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Anything Yuan says at this point is like throwing gasoline at a fire in order to extinguish it.

And this clearly isn't working for Mithos, either. He isn't going to run with his tail in between his legs just because Yuan forced him into submission. He isn't going to back down until he wraps his fingers around that Crystal, or else die trying. He won't abandon Martel, no matter what. So instead of snapping back with words, he begins to silently cast a spell. Specifically, Ground Dasher. It may hurt him too, but Yuan should be forced back and that is what's most important. If he's caught off guard enough...there could be an opening.]

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-04 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pain sharper than nearly anything else he's felt floods his nerves - and this is someone who has experienced death before. He can't even suppress the loud cry of pain he makes as he staggers forward toward Yuan's blade. The agony endures much longer than the previous two times, magnified infinitely more. He can barely process anything else.

...Except for how much he loathes Yuan, of course. He speaks through harsh, ragged breaths.]

...You....filthy... [Okay, no, fuck that, it hurts too much to even finish the insult.]

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-05 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Mithos is vaguely aware of being lowered onto the ground. His eyes screw shut, as if that will make his broken wing stop hurting. His breathing is still heavy, both from the excruciating pain and his anger.

He opens one eye to shoot a half-glare up at Yuan. He didn't even manage to land a single decent blow on the traitor. How...pathetic. Weakly, he pounds his fist against the snowy ground once or twice in a show of frustration, before that requires too much effort and he stops.]

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-05 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[He hates the idea of entrusting himself to others (unknown, untrustworthy), but he knows he is in severe need of medical attention. Still...he definitely isn't going to let himself be dragged there by Yuan. Enough humiliation has been suffered for one day.]

I don't...need...your help!

[Mithos tries to get up from the ground, but it's a feeble attempt. He can barely lift his head more than a few inches before he collapses again from the pain.]

[identity profile] imatreenow.livejournal.com 2011-01-05 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I will...myself...

[Mithos attempts to stand again, pushing off the ground with his hands. But the movement jars his broken wing and...with one last cry of pain, he's down for the count.

Lucky you, Yuan.]
