[So. He called her out, so he's a coming to her practice. That's the long and the short of it, really. Dressed the same as ever, looking the same as ever, the only real difference is how hard his eyes seem right now. He's going to be fighting soon, and the many emotions that accompany that knowledge has loomed over his head since the announcement. That's probably... part of why he's going to see Katara. Another part, lurking in the back of his head, is that he needs to know if he can fight someone - something - which can use magical abilities as potent as her's. That said, he's also afraid and he can sense she's concernedm so he's also there to dispel those concerns. Or something.

[It's cold and lightly snowing and perfect for waterbending practice outside... but she doesn't feel comfortable asking Masaomi to just stand out there, so she told him to meet her at the barracks. It's still weird to her to invite someone to just watch her bend, but she thinks that with the upcoming draft it might help him to realize some of the skills which will be watching his back once he's out there.

If she's concerned about other things - and she is - she's long since stopped thinking about them as she arrived about an hour before-hand. She went through her warm-ups and basic forms, and when he comes, he'll see a truly rare sight: A waterbender bending with a weapon.

She alternates her attacks with her bo and her bending, having long-since determined not to be useless in the event of total powerloss, she's been training with Nami for nearly ten months now, but this melding of styles, of staff fighting and bending, is a pattern uniquely her own. Waterbenders don't fight with weapons, it goes against tradition and pains her a little bit that she had to learn it - but Katara's more glad than ever before that she's taken those steps.

The battle is pressing heavily enough on her awareness that as soon as there's a change in her immediate surroundings, Katara glances towards it.]
