[So. He called her out, so he's a coming to her practice. That's the long and the short of it, really. Dressed the same as ever, looking the same as ever, the only real difference is how hard his eyes seem right now. He's going to be fighting soon, and the many emotions that accompany that knowledge has loomed over his head since the announcement. That's probably... part of why he's going to see Katara. Another part, lurking in the back of his head, is that he needs to know if he can fight someone - something - which can use magical abilities as potent as her's. That said, he's also afraid and he can sense she's concernedm so he's also there to dispel those concerns. Or something.

LOCATION OF PRACTICE NEGLECTED BECAUSE SHIRA THAT'S FOR YOU TO TELL ME But suffice to say, this evening he is there. Or getting there, anyway]

[And - sobering again.] I'll be with Sokka most of the time, though Shikamaru said he might need me on the first day. But if you get hurt or you need help, just let me know, all right? The journals should still work out there.

And you'll be my angel on the battlefield?! That almost would make a man tempted to get hurt.

[He said with... a smile which does not meet the scared sort of confirmation in his eyes. He hands his head a little, nodding]

[She sees that shade of confirmation in his eyes and nods, responding to that. She wishes that he didn't have to do this. She doesn't care how good of a fighter he is - he said 'beat people up' and this is killing and that leaves a different sort of stain on the soul even if they come back - she would know. She wants to encourage him to go and stay with the rest of the civilians again - but she can't, because he's not one, and that makes her even more confused.

She hates this. Hates this going out to war, hates the stupid draft and this stupid place and the stupid, stupid way her heart is still aching for someone she never really loved in the first place, because she'd love to go and talk to Chouji about this - or she would have, just last week - and now she can't. Because she doesn't love him it wouldn't be the same.]

I'll do what I can. But I'd rather not have to patch you up.

[So be careful.]

[He doesn't nod or respond to that, just turns and strikes a little pose, grinning a little to himself]

Who knows?! Maybe I'll even get to save you are some point!

[He doubts it. With the bending, he doubts he could have gotten to her]

[Broken rib. Resting? Or more practice. Hmm..] I think I'll just head on home for tonight. Rest is important too.

[She moves to gather up her bo.]
