Umbrael Goes to Town!
Who: Umbrael, and whoever wants to run into him.
What: Umbrael gives in and heads into the village for shelter and stuff.
When: Several hours after he wakes up here, a bit after his journal entry/conversation here, and, uh, yeah.
Where: The edge of the forest, close to the village.
Summary: On the one hand, the village is full of humans/humanoids. On the other hand, it is snowy and cold outside.
Rating: Shouldn't get over PG, really.
Umbrael hesitated at the edge of the forest. Yes, hesitated. Powerful as he was at home, here, ugh, here, he was not, so he had to be a little more careful than he normally would. Especially since his past visits to human/human-ish towns didn't usually end well.
He considered how he was going to enter the village, if he should try to be discrete, or if he should just announce his presence, but quickly realized that it really didn't matter - since his ultimate goal was to get inside and out of the cold, there was a pretty good chance that everyone else that was stuck there was going to see him anyway. And hey, maybe by now they'd be so used to seeing weird stuff, they wouldn't overreact to a giant lizard/dinosaur/dragony-thing.
Or, they'd be so paranoid, they'd assume he was a monster and attack him anyway.
"Fff, I'm one to talk about paranoia," he hissed to himself, rolling his eyes. Yes, even he thought he was being ridiculous sometimes, but it never hurt to be careful.
Umbrael stared a little longer, sighed, and started towards the village.

Umbrael stared a little longer, sighed, and started towards the village.

"Tch," he hissed into the cold air. "What the hell's it called...?"
The white-haired boy twitched his wings irritably, lost in thought. So uncharacteristically lost in thought that he walked right into a scaly rock. He cursed under his breath upon impact. Wait... what? He blinked. His wings twitched again.
"You're new, right?" he said after finally managing to stop staring.

Umbrael looked down at him, but not from as far up as he was used to. He chalked the size-change up to his loss of power, and used it as another block of fuel for that inner fire of rage he had going on. But enough pointless exposition on that-
Umbrael, with the Raahk-equivilant of a raised eyebrow, stared at the human - filial, whatever.
"Are there a lot of other giant lizards walking around?" Umbrael asked flatly.
no subject
"No. I thought I recognized you from some journal post a few days ago," he stated calmly. "And who knows if you're just another factor of a Malnosso experiment?"
Hitsugaya knitted his eyebrows. He seemed to have a knack for finding foul tempers. Half sighing, he said, "No one here looks remotely anything like you... I have the right to be suspicious."
no subject
Umbrael nodded at the human's- filial's, whatever- words.
"Well, I would hope that anything capable of taking beings from their worlds with the intent to run experiments on them would at least have the sense to send any reptile-based monsters out in warmer weather," he replied wryly, managing a smirk.
"But yeah, you're right to be suspicious. I'm not allied with the Mafresso or whatever they're called, but as you mentioned, I don't exactly blend in."
Umbrael also had to admit that it was a bit of a relief to learn that he was the only Raahk-like thing out here - meant that the rest of his species had been left alone, but at the cost of their leader, it seemed. Well, he could worry about it later, and besides, between his brother, his tech-guy, and his council, things should be fine for a little while.
