Who: Everyone!
What: New Feather Party
When: Saturday Evening
Where: Rec Centre
Summary: Come one, come all! It's time for this cycle's New Feather Party!
Rating: PG -- to be changed in case of drunken shenanigans! Which are encouraged but it's a BYOB kinda deal. XD

[ooc: Alright everybody, here's how it works! Comment spam is the name of the game here and yes, my inbox can handle it! First comment is for anyone who's volunteered to help out and there's a lots of people so Selphie has already split everybody up into groups. aka: feel free to make your own groups. After that, there's just going to be general partyness going on! Threadjacking is more than encounraged (hell, it's expected and demanded) and there you have it! The grumps can come btw, they just can't grump at the party! xD]

The party was all set up and ready to go. The food had been delivered, the rec centre was thoroughly decorated and cheerful with its spring colours and Selphie was just hanging around waiting for the guests to arrive. Her small army of helpers had been hard at work since the day before and it hardened the perky brunette's resolve to make this one of the best parties she's ever thrown. A small part of her wished that her other friends from home and those who had left this place could be here to enjoy the party with everyone here. Even then, a larger part of her knows that it's better that they're not here.

Regardless, Selphie goes about getting this latest New Feather party arranged with every ounce of cheer and assuring those new people that not every people associated with Luceti is crazy. Giving them a welcoming environment to get to know some of their fellow residents is better than wondering what's going to happen next. Besides, it could help those shy people make some friends or get over their anxieties about social gatherings. Overall, Selphie felt that these parties were worth the hard work and would do them as many times as necessary.

I just go online for everything except Orig which I proudly own ^O^

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Not at all, I have heard of people who have been here for more than three years.

[Maybe four years by now.]

That happens at times from what I have heard. I have yet to see it happen close to me though, the only person who I knew that left and returned kept his memories of this place.
paladinlost: (soft)

All of Orig, LC 1-13 and Ep. G 1-15. My poor wallet. ;_;

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
More than three years... They must miss their families terribly.

At least you were not forgotten. That must be a painful feeling, especially for those who have lost many friends here.
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (008 - No amusement)

I also have all the Ovas and Movies /her wallet hates her

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
For those who have them, I suppose so.

It's the way this place goes, painful or not, it's how things are. It's not different than losing contact with someone for several years and then meeting again with said person not remembering anything about you.
paladinlost: (pretty)

Too expensiiiive yet I still ask for the boxsets ever Christmas.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
At least when you've lost contact, there is no recent feeling of loss involved. [A sip.] Perhaps I should have asked when the last "me" disappeared, and if they'd made any friends. I'd rather not accidentally hurt anyone's feelings.
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (007 - No agreement here)

At least asking for them isn't expensive, getting them on the other hand...

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Some people take a while before returning anyway, so there's not always such a feeling of loss.

It may not be a bad idea if you care so much about hurting people by accident. Or you could check the journals, even if you weren't here it may be possible for you to check when your friends announced that you were gone.
paladinlost: (thoughtful)

But when you buy them yourself, you actually have them, instead of hoping every single year.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
How long did it take, for that person you know?

Even if I cannot see it with mine, I should be able to do so with Rydia's or Kain's. Both have been here for a long time, they must have a copy of the message somewhere.
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (006 - Looking back)

That's true, but it's pretty to receive the surprise after a long wait

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[He's not really sure but...]

Not more than four months, the last time I saw him was at the beginning of December and he just returned a few days ago.

[In Ikki's book that equals to "a while".]

Are you a friend of Rydia? I've talked with her a few times.
paladinlost: (soft)

The surprise merely needs to happen! Maybe this year...

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
A relatively recent disappearance, then. He should not be too unbalanced by the change of seasons.

[He nods.]

Yes, I am. We come from the same world, and I've known her since she was seven. She does seem to be quite active around the village.
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (005 - Peace for a war)

/crosses fingers

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
She is, she and the other girls here do a good job with the Welcome Center. She has been here for a good while as well, if I recall correctly.
paladinlost: (peaceful)

/sacrifices the old broken PSP

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yet I cannot remember her going missing for years at a time. I suppose time in our worlds truly does stop while we are here.
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (004 - Into the distance)

so long as it's broken xDD

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
That's good to know. I have things to do back home and it's bad enough to be here. I would go crazy if time didn't stop there while I'm here.

[Crazy with rage, that is.]
paladinlost: (sighing)

It is! ...Since four days ago.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
This land does seem to take us at the worst times. Knowing that I did not accidentally abandon everyone just before the final battle is the only reason I could keep calm during the first three days.
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (007 - No agreement here)

Poor thing

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 09:40 am (UTC)(link)
Hn, yes, that would be something good, to be able to know that beyond when you're from you're still there.

[Not sure if that would help him to calm down but... It would still be nice to know.]
paladinlost: (thoughtful)

A tragic death by disconnection during a firmware update.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
You'd simply need someone from the future to know that, but from what I've heard such an arrival is far from assured.

[And being The One From The Future isn't exactly fun either.]
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (008 - No amusement)

That's indeed tragic... /paranoid forever if she gets a PSP

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I've yet to see someone from my world come. There was one, but he was from the past, a century before I was even born.

[Well, it's better this way. Shun has to protect Athena. Athena has to do, whatever she's trying to do to help Seiya, because Ikki's sure that's what she's doing. And Hyoga and Shiryuu... They better be getting there to help Shun. Seiya is the only one who he wouldn't be angry on seeing there, even if it was in that half-dead state.]
paladinlost: (curious)

Do NOT interrupt firmware updates. EVER. /fuels the paranoia

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
A full century? That's a rather impressive difference in time... How could you be certain you were from the same world? Was he an historical figure?

[Here he was, thinking the seventeen-year difference was a bit much...]
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (006 - Looking back)

eeeek /never updates the firmware

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Kind of, his name never got past history, but his legacy did. His Cosmos, his energy, was similar to that of someone I know, similar but not identical, that was his legacy.
paladinlost: (peaceful)

Necessary to play some games. *sighs*

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if his name was forgotten, a part of him was transmitted through generations, to the point that people from the future could recognize him... That sounds like a good legacy.

[He takes a small sip.]
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (004 - Into the distance)

Nooooo *cries*

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That's how things are in my world, at least the part of it I wander on. We are warriors, but most of the world doesn't know us, what we do or who we fight against. We are nameless and have no other reason to be but our duty.

After death more likely what awaits us is an eternity of torture, but our wills go on through generations. Our armors are re-used by new generations so they carry on both our will and their own will, besides that of the ones who wore those armors before.

[It's the best way to explain it. He has no qualms over talking about it, he does it in a very "matter of fact" tone. It's how things are and he has accepted that long ago. Also, the Saints were unknown by the world but not such a big secret that they couldn't talk if asked. If they did, most of the time, was simply to avoid normal people getting more involved in the eternal war they were in.]
paladinlost: (calm)

Sony is as evil as LJ.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[Cecil listens to Ikki's explanation quietly, merely taking a few sips of his drink. At the end of it, he looks... not precisely sad, but definitely not unaffected.]

...To be able to transmit your wills to the future, at the cost of an eternity of torture and any chance you might have to be recognized by the world... Some would say it is not a fair trade without recognizing the importance of your duty. Your goal and will must truly be noble, to necessitate such sacrifices.
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (004 - Into the distance)

It sure is, is the only explanation for it to release games I like in ways I can't get them

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ikki shrugs.]

I don't care if it's noble or not. I don't care if it's justice or really the good thing to do, it's what I consider right and that's enough. We serve the Goddess Athena, who was given the duty of protecting the world and humanity until the ruler of the Gods returned from wherever he went. That was far in ancient histories, several centuries have gone by and while the ruler is away many other Gods prey after the domain he left.

Some just search to control the world. Others, just search for the destruction of humanity considering that it has gotten too corrupted for its own good and that it needs to be purified. Some also believe that Athena herself has become tainted given her love for humans and isn't acting as a Goddess should. I honestly don't know if fighting for her and keep the world as it is is the right thing, I know of many humans who truly believed that what those others Gods did was the right thing. But I'll fight for my beliefs.

At any rate, we are still humans fighting against Gods, even if we do in the name of another deity. It's to be expected that at the end there won't be any kind of glory for us, but if the world keeps going on towards another generation, that will be enough for us.
paladinlost: (mature)

*...bought a PSP to get games she couldn't have in the first place*

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's perfectly fine. Having faith in someone, and protecting that person, is always a just cause. Even if others believed your Goddess' goals were wrong, no one should fault you for your devotion.

I suppose even Gods have their own form of cruelty, though I've never seen those of my worlds to confirm it. Even the Creator was far from one.
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (007 - No agreement here)

kind of why I bother asking for one if the conversation of consoles comes up

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
From my experience, the only deity who isn't cruel is Athena, at least not in the usual meaning of the word. The others have got too much into their seats as deities and have forgotten about what's worth in life. For them, deciding is humans live or die has the same meaning as deciding what clothes to wear one day. They are just like brats who have been ignored by most of humans due their own lack of care for them and now throw a fit, wanting to punish them for something they themselves caused.
paladinlost: (flowy)

What games do you want to play?

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-03-20 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
They sound like they should have no right to interfere with humanity. You cannot simply abandon a world and expect it to bow to your whims once you return. Other than your Athena, are they all like this? Or do some of them simply stay away, without caring about what humans do?
uccellodifuoco: As this last breath leaves me (006 - Looking back)

P3P, Disgaea, all the FF games on that system...

[personal profile] uccellodifuoco 2011-03-20 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. When we defeated one another one came and after that even more arrived. Seems as if for each one we defeat there's another ready to jump into the fray. Not to mention that being Gods they aren't easy to defeat. Just to defeat Hades it took several centuries of war.

...Poor wallet.
