[OK. OK. Katara's mostly gotten the hang of this now. Landing is still a little tricky. But mostly? Aside from being completely cut off from her element... this. is still. awesome.

So Katara is flying all about during her free time, working on her landings, and still just generally loving her new wings. So she can be seen flying by the riverbanks, or flying into town to run some errands.

...there will also be a point where she just takes a seat by the fountain and dips her fingers in the water. Flying is great, but she feels somehow muted without being able to feel the water.]

[Flying around town, she might notice Michael going about the day's business as well... though at least on his way to, if not back from the shops, he'll be running on all fours, blue, feline ears turned back and tail streaming out behind him. It seems he's slowly but surely coming to terms with his transformation for the week. Almost a shame there's only a few days of it left, eh?]

[Katara notices it, but from her angle she can't see his face. All the same, he'll probably be in the general area when she comes in for a hesistant landing in the square.]

[There's a sky bison soaring towards the riverbank. That heavy winter coat is mostly gone by now, though some tufts of fur still drift down. In need of a break after flying around and flying friends around, Terra moves to descend.]

[Wooosh, Katara is flying towards the descending bison now.] Appa, is that you?

[Look, up in the sky! There's a shadow that's oddly... large. And then a cheerful voice!]

[That's an oddly cheerful voice from above. It wouldn't be the first time she's noticed a large shadow.

But... those wings?

... The voice was Katara, which makes the rest not matter. So she offers a wave and a smile up at the girl instead.]

I am! [And she comes to a halting landing.] What about you? You don't look that different.

[Derek definitely has the hang of his wings by now.

Today, that means that instead, he's trying to learn how to hover, dive, and land. Because he's still pretty much a train wreck in that regard. Sudden stop at the end and all that.

So here he, hovering in one place while he stares at the ground near the river, looking for sign of snake or rabbit. And generally not quite aware of the rest of his surroundings.]

[My, that is a much bigger shadow, circling around in that area. It appears he's not the only one looking for a good place to land.]

He makes a startled squawk when he recognizes the face...but what's with the wings?

He'll fly after, chirping to get her attention.]

[Huh, what? Katara halts her forward motion and spreads out her wings, hovering.

...well. What kind of hawk has Luceti wings as well? Must be part of the experiment...]

There might be one naiad pausing in the stream to watch her soar past, eyes wide in fascination]

[And Katara abruptly swoops down, extends a hand and runs her fingers along the surface of the river as she flies - only to startle up as she sees a face in the water. She hovers a few feet above the river.]

Sorry... [glancing down at her silvery-blue arms] I'm not blending on purpose, honest.

No, that's okay. [Just - what.] I hope I didn't disturb you...

[While Katara's sitting by the fountain, the familiar rumble of someone earthbending starts moving the ground, from underneath her. After a few moments, a hole opens up in the ground and a badgermole, all dusty and dirty, comes lumbering out of the hole. It stomps a foot to close it, but still seems fairly irate, since the more it stomps, the more ground gets displaced at sharp angles.]

oh crap. Badgermoles are huge. And angry badgermoles - not the best thing to come close to ever.

But there are no badgermoles in Luceti.

Right. Right. So it's part of the experiment, that means it's a person and a person can probably be reasoned with, so Katara shakes off her urge to take flight.]

[She'd already instinctively sprung to her feet, and now she approaches carefully, holding out her hands in front of her.]

Easy now. You'll wreck the whole square if you keep that up. My name's Katara, can you speak?

[Ukyo's fresh bout of frustration comes from having tried to tunnel under the barrier to get out, only to find she couldn't. Grr. She shakes her head and huffs out an annoyed sigh. No speaking like this and she doesn't like it.]
