No Katara, that's really, REALLY not necessary. Going to walk closer to the door now- which is shut. SIGH. Honestly, if he hadn't thought you had no idea who he was, he would swear you're enjoying this. Jet stands firmly still and looks away. There will be no convincing.]

[Katara stands up.] Oh, come on. You're not scared of a little brush, are you? It won't hurt, I promise. You'll feel better once those burrs are out of your fur.

[It's not about pain it's- there's a whole level of pride that's being infringed upon here! He's a man darn it! You might as well be braiding his hair or something. Jet is still not moving, stubbornly looking away, as if somehow breaking ignoring Katara will mean she can't see him... She's still coming closer isn't she?]

[She is still coming closer, and in fact she looks like she's about to pat his head again when she hesitates and opens up the store door.]

If you want to go, I won't try to keep you. It's got to be frustrating enough to be stuck in that body. I just thought that it would help not to have those things pressing down on you anymore. I mean, it's bad enough having to be like this, why should you have to be uncomfortable too?

[She makes a compelling argument but knowing time could betray him at any moment, and having worked so hard to get to this option, grants Jet the urge to resist staying. He glances at Katara with one last emotionless blink before showing himself out-

-Only to pop back in a moment later to drop off a few stalks of flowers and he barely felt the desire to eat them. They're nothing special, probably swiped from market stall or shop that had more- but it's something. Katara helped him, again, and while he could do something much more suave in person, he has no intentions of her figuring him out EVER- so awkward animal behavior will have to do. Jet will wait to see if she gets them before bounding off, after that, he is outta here!]

[Oh. Well. That was too bad.

But it was his choice, it's not like he was a regular fox antelope. And considering she had no idea who it was... it may be for the better. She gets up to go and put the brush away and glances over in surprise when she hears hooves on the floor.

Did he change his mind and come back? She peers over just in time to see the fox antelope drop the flowers onto the floor and scamper off.

Aww, that was so sweet! She wishes some of her human patients were this grateful. In the end, she gathers the flowers up and inhales their fragrance, wraps them up, and takes them with her.]
