What: Mikan harvest!
When: All day, 24th April
Where: Nami and Zoro's fictional mikan orchard on the outskirts of town.
Summary: It's that time of year again in which the household sneakily gathers free fruit-pickers--uh, I mean, makes a celebration of the annual Spring harvest. Food, festivities, and fruit collection? Bring a basket.
Rating: Rated C. For cavities.



[The entire orchard is decorated for the event with streamers and flowers along the fences; pinwheels, too, though they're always there. There's a looot of fruit to be picked, and Nami will supply baskets for everyone-- and anyone who comes bearing a basket of their own can take it away filled with fruit at the end of the day. In the meantime, enjoy the scenery and the food and drink and each other's company. The harvest ends at sunset.]

You can be out amongst the trees, in where the food is being served (there'll be a few tables to sit at on the back porch area), lurking in the house for whatever reason or anything else you can think of to do at a huge family gathering like this :|a The food is delicious, supplied by Sanji - and beware the roving Hughes with his camera. |D

I will also be slow as hell to begin with because my internet is dead, but pfft there are a lot of other people at this thing. SCRATCH THAT I LIED. What the hell, computer. B| ...anyway, go nuts.]

[So Nami's littlest brother thought he'd lucked out today, because it's nicely cloudy and he knew there's no way feigned sickness would have gotten him out of helping with the harvest. For most of the morning he helps out with no problems...

Until around noon the clouds part and a nice shining sun peeks through, probably cheering up all of the workers. All except Ayumu, who is now hiding in the shadiest part of the orchard he can find and hoping no one will notice he's missing.]

[Your dad notices, which is a first. He'll find him soon enough and wonders why he was all the way over there and not with everyone else. It sort of left him with the impression that Ayumu didn't want to be involved. Or was he just taking a break? Well let's walk over and find out.]

[Luck is just not on his side anymore. Maybe it's only for living people.]

Just... taking a little break.

[erk.. why would he guess that??] Well, it is kind of hot out now...

Then how about we move towards where the food and drinks are?

[It'll take some time for Nami to notice-- she's so busy playing hostess to everyone here-- but she does come by eventually, running in mock terror from a five year old with a camera. Elicia's nowhere in sight, so she comes to a stop to blink at her little brother hiding in the shadows.]

Ayumu? Something wrong?

[definitely the person he did not want to discover him....] Er, well... I'm feeling a little tired, that's all. I'll be okay.

Huh...well, you should probably come grab some food if that's the case. Have you had lunch yet?

I'm not really hungry right now. Maybe later...

[noo don't do that Nami. He tries to pull away before she captures him but this patch of shade is too small.]

[yes... because as soon as his wrist touches the sunlight it will start giving off smoke. And then if it stays much longer than that, shriveling up, much like this. As soon as it starts to burn though he instinctively tugs backwards with a surprising amount of force.] I-I'm fine! really!

Hey, little bro. [totally spotted you] You don't look too good. Scared of the sun again?

[muttering under his breath] It should explode. Things would be much better.

We'd all be dead. I don't really think that's better.

C'mon, you're here and you've gotta help.

[he wouldn't be... but don't try to drag him out of the shade please.]

I will in a bit! I'm... just taking a break.

[corrinesbell]

You've been taking a break all day. Let's go. [grabs for shirt]

[grabbing the tree trunk you are not dragging him out there too--!] Sheena, come on!

[leans in and tickles him to get him to let go]

You're done being lazy, little brother.
