Summary: The appearance of beasts in the forest gives Albert a reason to practice with his bodyguard.

[Albert swung his sword experimentally a few times, still getting used to the added weight in comparison to his old one. As if he wasn't at enough of a disadvantage during these practice sessions, now he had to adjust to a new blade. But he was already restless between the dreams and the creatures reported to be appearing around the village and in the forest, so he needed to expend that restless energy somehow.]

[Yuber was feeling just as restless and was annoyed at the special interest these strange creatures seemed to take in him. It was annoying.

But training Albert was always a refreshing change. Being able to give orders to his employers without repercussions was a very entertaining thing.

Even the need to use different blades that were not sharpened so that he didn't accidentally injure or kill his employer didn't quell that enthusiasm. He had the blades that he used for this ready when he apeared behind house 42 for this session.]

[He pauses in his solo training when he catches sight of his bodyguard, lowering his sword and regaining some sense of composure. It wouldn't last; he knew all too well from past sessions what kind of teacher Yuber was, and it was only his own stubbornness that kept him from getting angry over Yuber's exponentially better swordplay.

With a slight nod, he greets the man and begins walking over.]

Monsters in the valley. It's been awhile.

[Yuber doesn't really nod back, but then he's not one for social niceties ever. He knows Albert still needs plenty of work if he's to be able to effectively defend himself and not meet his father's fate and wasting time isn't something he likes to do.]

It has. They appear to be little threat so far at least. [Of course, it's hard to say if he's speaking of them being easy to kill or the fact that they don't attack unless threatened.] At least you are practicing. Maybe you won't lose so miserably this time.

[His jaw clenches a little at the comment, but he manages to keep his response neutral as he kneels down and retrieves the scabbard for his sword. Of course Yuber would make a comment like that. He shouldn't let it annoy him.] Indeed.

[Once his sword is properly sheathed and set aside, Albert looks at his bodyguard expectantly.] Shall we get started?

[Yuber really was hoping he'd get a reaction, but he was likely going to have to keep trying.] Of course. I'll even let you try and hit me first.

[Yuber is ready, but he's going to just stand there until Albert acts.]

[Try. Yes, that was how it usually was, wasn't it? Albert takes up a training sword, adjusting his stance into something between rigid and comfortable. Then he snaps forward, the blade crossing in front of him as he tries to land a blow on Yuber's shoulder.]

[And Yuber does let it look like he's going to let Albert land a hit in, but at the very last second, he's out of the way and attempting to counter that attack.

Hopefully Albert is paying close attention.]

[Albert isn't nearly as quick as his bodyguard, but he seethes to himself as he sees Yuber step out of the way; he knew this was coming. He pulls back from his swing as much as he can, digging his feet into the ground as he faces Yuber.

But he's slow in bringing up his sword to parry, so his side is left wide open.]
