Fever Time, Baby!

Who: [livejournal.com profile] luceti (especially those of you who were in the draft).
What: Impromptu house party at House 28!
When: Backdated to 10th June
Where: House 28 (Graces House).
Summary: Pascal is throwing a house party to try and cheer everyone up, especially those of you who returned from the draft and have since filled her journal inbox with sadness and woe. It's B.Y.O.B. and everyone is invited, so bring tasty things to eat and drink! There will beverages both alcoholic and non. There is also a big banana cream cake. It's a casual party for fun and mingling, so no real activities have been planned in advance. Aside from drinking games.
Rating: PG-13, for Party Goodtimes x 13!

--Well, it heats the food with fire. And food can be heated so much it catches fire. [Oh, God. She needs to empty this damned drink to bear with this.] I know how to cook over a campfire, but when you put an oven to the max and let it go, that's just asking for it.

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-06-28 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. I thought the insides might've been fireproof... Geez, that's some lack of foresight, isn't it? Seems like common sense to fix it up so it's not so dangerous.
daisy023: (Spartan)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-06-29 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
Insides are fireproof... Things around the oven somestimes are not. Smoke comes out from the food, fire can catch other things... [Gulp gulp.] My world's tech is only dangerous if you really ask for it... Such as putting metal in microwaves, forks in electrical contacts...

...

[Gulp gulp gulp.]

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-06-29 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
You can't put metal in microwave... huh... Daisy... You must really like this stuff, huh...?
daisy023: (Huh?)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-06-30 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
--Think of it like fire. You don't hold a metal rod bare-handed on a fire, you don't put an energy conductor on something that can either transfer electric energy or make an object's molecules vibrate to heat it.

[It's almost disturbing to think how much theoretical knowledge could Daisy possess if she ever reached a state of inebriation.

The taller girl looks at her cup. Hm. She had been hitting it hard... but she still didn't feel much different.]

It's sweet. And the... Vodka, it actually improves the taste; but I think I'm drinking slowly... It's sweet [And somewhat addictive.], but I don't feel very different.

[Four and a half.]

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
Really? 'Cause... I mean, I haven't had that much, an' I think I feel a bit... warm, maybe.

It just means you have a high tolerance, doesn't it? That's supposed to be a good thing, I think...
daisy023: (Gone)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-09 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah... [She leaves the cup on the table, and her hands set themselves on her knees.] It's just that it's doing nothing to me. And how much I'd need to drink...

[Daisy reaches over to the bottle of whiskey, the thing that tasted worse than the beer. She revises the back of it to make mental calculations. And frowns.]

I think I'm only good for sweet stuff. I feel warm, too, but... Wonder if there's something as too much tolerance.

[She drinks. Her count is now five. She sighs, as she lays on the couch.]

It's interesting, though... How about you, Marica?

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
You mean my tolerance? Y'know... At this rate, I'm willin' to bet it's not anywhere as good as yours...

You could probably use that as, say... a weapon or somethin', though. Like in drinking contests.
daisy023: (What was mine)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-09 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Drinking contests? [What.] People do that?

[...Never been into a party.]

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, sure. Our castle has a tavern, so a lotta the Company members'll spend their nights there. I always got the impression that bein' able to hold your liquor was a sign of manliness.
daisy023: (Gone)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-09 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Seems I'm manlier than a lot of people...

[Without even trying. Sob. She holds her cup again.]

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
You say that like it's a bad thing! If I had one potch for every time my father's tried to hold me back 'cause I'm a girl...
daisy023: (Huh?)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-10 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Gulpgulp.]

Yeah, but I think my size alone scares a lot of boys. [Except Kida. And Val thinks it is attractive.] It doesn't worry me that much, but...

I don't know how people would take seeing me as the last one standing.

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-11 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
In our Company, that'd just earn you even more respect.

You kinda remind me of a woman in our village who's waay bigger and tougher'n anyone. She used to be away a lot, but whenever she did come, all of the men were at her feet in an instant. She was the coolest...
daisy023: (I am home)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-11 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Daisy finishes her cup quickly to ask Marica about her role model.]

These things are admired where you're from, in a woman...? Can you tell me about her?

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-11 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't say it's a cultural thing, but she's just so impressive that people can't help but admire her. She's built like a tree, and her arms are this thick...

She used to be away a lot for bodyguard work, but she joined our army once the war started. The great thing is, she doesn't even need a weapon! She just beats up monsters and soldiers with her fists... I think a lot men are afraid of her because she's so strong and confident, but we girls love to see her.
daisy023: (Huh?)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-12 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
[The taller girl looks wide-eyed at the size of the idol's muscles. She drinks half another cup. That woman is beginning to remind Daisy of Cal.]

It sounds like she could punch a tank open. We use weapons, but if she had been in my world, she would've been a Spartan.

I'd love to meet her, and learn from her. [And share their different tactics on how to beat living and mechanical things to a pulp.]

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
Her son was here when I arrived, but he's been sent back home... Name's Jale. Maybe you met him...

What's a Spartan?
daisy023: (Spartan)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-12 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
'fraid I never did... A shame...

[She leans down. Once asked for what a Spartan is, Daisy leans on the couch and tips her chin.

Fortunately or unfortunately for Marica, Daisy has reached seven cups, so she's a little tipsy now. And as humble as she is, the fact she is a Spartan -a protector of humanity- is a thing of some pride. However, even now, she chooses to be careful with how much she reveals.]

Name comes a long way... It wouldn't make much sense if I didn't say why we have it. [Daisy has experience with being poisoned, but she doesn't know whenever if giving in to her clouded state of mind would be appropiate.] The original Spartans come from loong ago. Tough warriors, strict discipline, unbreakable unity, and they were best warriors of humanity in the Ancient age. The most famous king, was King Leonidas...

[The PB of the General.]

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
So your group is kind of like a continuation... That makes a lot of sense. About you, I mean. My world has some great gunmen, but you're on a different level.
daisy023: (Keep low)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-14 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmore like a homage. Because those Spartans where I'm from... are from three millennia ago.

[She gulps, leaning on the couch.]

Thanks, but you aren't too bad out there, Marica... I wish I could shoot out water arrows sometimes...

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it can be handy... But I didn't earn that ability through hard or anything... It's kinna unfair to people who can only work hard, isn't it...?
daisy023: (Gone)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-15 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Same can be said about luck.

[Daisy sighs, getting unusually comfortable. She is of the thought that luck favors different people, and one must work with whatever luck they may have.]

Only matters is what we do with what we get, and you did pretty well.

[identity profile] realityanchor.livejournal.com 2011-07-17 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, what am I gettin' all gloomy for? Why do people like to get drunk, anyway?
daisy023: (Huh?)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-07-17 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Marica was right on both accounts. Both on not getting gloomy on a party... and asking herself why people got drunk.]

Loss of inhibition? [Something unthinkable for Daisy... Then again, she is leaning on a couch. A position one would not usually find a Spartan in.] It hasn't done me much, but... I feel light.
