A-rescuing we go~ [Closed, unfinished]
Who: Edward and Balthier
What: Ed attempts to rescue Al despite everyone telling him he's an idiot. Because he is.
When: Around half an hour or so after Ed talked to Balthier. (I think?)
Where: Starts in front of the tea shop. We'll see where they get to? XD;
Summary: Stupid Ed is stupid. <3
Rating: G-PG
After double-checking everything, Edward headed to the tea shop to meet up with Balthier. He thought he did a pretty good job clothing-scrounging; in half an hour's time, he'd managed to procure a thicker coat with a fur-lined hood -- red, like the one he used to wear, -- a pair of thick gloves, and a pair of winter boots. It felt strange not to be in his normal gear, but he had to admit that it was getting cold. Very cold. He was glad for the forced gloves and boots more than anything, after running around outside. There were some damage that were all the worse when one didn't feel them; Winry would have killed him if he'd let anything happen to his automail, and he doubted there would be a way to fix it there, anyway.
With a bag slung over one shoulder filled with what little food was in their house that didn't seem too perishable, Ed half-waded through the snow.

So now that they had clothing and shelter... "I guess we need to get food?"
He had brought some, of course, but it was just what was lying around the house. He doubted it would be enough.

He patted the pack over his left shoulder. "I've taken care of the food; it might taste like old malboro stew, but anything more is simply taking up space."

"All right, then..." Remembering something, Ed reached into his pocket, fishing out his journal and flipping it to one of the latest entries.
There it was... "Here, I've got directions on how to get there."

((OOC: Eek, should have responded earlier, busy and forgot, sorry.))

He paused, sighing. "So, which way are we headed, anyway? That storm isn't getting any more patient."

For a moment, he paused, glancing at the map and studying it. "The easiest way would be to follow the river upstream to the mountains."

He peeked over Ed's shoulder, glancing at the crude map. "Hmm," he muttered, mostly to himself. "I hope this thing's accurate. Only one way to find out, eh?"
With that, he turned and began to move in the direction the map indicated.
