What: Striking a deal.
When: Early evening of the 15th
Where: House 26
Summary: After giving it some thought, Draco's decided that he had to be the one to discuss things with Hermione whether he liked it or not. The DA was still a stupid idea in his opinion, but it couldn't hurt to ask about it, right?
Rating: G-ish.
Honestly, he was surprised he wasn't sunburned given how long he had been out at the south lake earlier in the day. Draco usually took refuge at the lake as his thinking place, and he definitely had a lot to think about. Recent events have had quite a bit weighing on his mind, and the fact that while she had returned Potter hadn't arrived yet didn't help matters. Add on the fact that a friend was nearly killed because she couldn't properly defend herself against someone so strong and you had a Draco who really wished Luceti would just give up.
He Apparated from the lake as the sun shifted in the sky, signaling the early evening. As he stood on the porch of his house, he looked down the road to House 26 where he knew Granger and Weasley were. He knew he shouldn't bother, but it had been bothering him for a while now. That nagging notion that something should have been done, they should have been doing something to help people like Xion or others. Like they had before Hermione was sent home. He was good at ignoring it for a time, writing it off as silly heroics, but in light of the current situation?
"Bloody Gryffindors."
He stepped off of the porch and marched up the road to House 26, stopping at the front door and knocking. All he could do was hope that it was Hermione who answered and not Weasley.

sorry it's late dear dsfdsg
For now, her time had been resorted to the library-- when certain abilities returned to her-- to do research and keeping the house up. Seeing as Ron was living on sandwiches for the short time it was up to someone to do something. But, really, Hermione had her mind elsewhere and into the bit of studies she'd worked into.
Thankfully for Malfoy, when he decided to come over was one of those times she'd been at the house rather than out. Frowning at the knocking, Hermione cast a look around before going to the door. The person on the other side made an eyebrow shoot up and a cold expression form.
"What do I owe the pleasure?" They were the same sort of dignified by cold mixture words she so often found herself saying.
/flips LJ into the sun omg I fail.
"You're not busy, are you? I think this conversation may take priority to whatever it is you're doing."
/flips everything with
"I fail to see why it is anything you have to say is so much more important that my business, Malfoy." Well, at least it wasn't as hostile as Ron may be.
\o/!
"I want to talk to you about the DA." And that's all he said, deciding best to wait to see how she reacted. He could only imagine; after all, Draco Malfoy was asking about the DA.
/o/ we make the best team
It was that particular thought when Draco dropped the perpetual bomb. The fierce look changed to surprise as Hermione found herself baffled. It took all she could not to keep the look of surprise before she spoke.
"And what on Earth could you possible want with the DA?" The question slipped before she caught herself because everything about that sentence was wrong. At least, from Draco Malfoy it was wrong. Then again, as much as Hermione hated it, she was missing too much to even begin to understand.
we totally do. It makes me happy <3
Well. Two that he could think he gave a damn about, three considering some days he did tolerate Tsuzuki, but it was enough for him. It was enough that he realized maybe he had to swallow his pride and ask Hermione for help.
Not that he would enjoy it in the slightest, but there was also the chance she'd say no.
"I can explain when we're inside." It was a blatant hint, but even he wasn't rude enough to just push past her into the house. He'd learned some manners in his time in Luceti.
<3 we need to team up and take out the empire state building next
I can explain when we're inside. Unconsciously, Hermione bit the bottom of her lip in a familiar thought process. Several moments would pass before she caught herself. From here, it looked as if Malfoy was coming over threateningly and seemed sincere. As awful as he'd been over the years, she was a person in fair justice... But. No, if she wanted answers to her questions this wasn't the way to do it.
Hermione paused briefly before speaking.
"Fine," she responded evenly, keeping the authority to her tone, "but if you try anything don't think I'll listen to another word let alone let it go." Giving him an incredulous look she stepped aside, pulling the door further open.
<3 it'd be like king kong meets godzilla
"Wouldn't dream of it," he replied, though the tone was a light mocking one. It was funny how she still thought she was in control here. He was the one with the proposition and information, not her. He could control everything should he have wanted to. Instead though he slips into the house, easily wandering toward the sitting room as though it were his own home. He'd been there often enough that it may as well have been. It doesn't take long for him to hone in on an armchair and curl up into it, waiting for the girl to have a seat as well.
"All right. Go on. I know you're dying to ask questions, so out with it."
<3 oh can i be godzilla? he reminds me of REPTAR
Biting back a retort at his phrase, Hermione watched him. Brows furrowing slightly as she watched him maneuver through the house. He hadn't been lying when he said he knew the house, but that left even more questions. She quickly caught herself before entering the sitting room herself. Frown etched on her visage, she took a seat opposite, brown eyes remained skeptical and alert.
What he said caught her by surprise. Unfortunately for her it showed on her features as well as her mind whirled.
"As you said before-- how am I to trust you're actually telling the truth?"
<3 omg reptar. Yes. Yesyes.
"Who else are you going to trust, hmm? Besides, I can show you certain things in the journal to back up what I'm telling you, specifically about the DA. Would written proof be enough?"
I AM REPTAR /o/ Who would win in a fight, though?
Unfortunately for her, a part of her did want to give him the benefit of the doubt. There must have been a reason Malfoy sought her out about the D.A. and, as much as she hated to admit it, she was curious. Mulling over the thoughts, Hermione's mind raced deciding which course of action was best to take.
"And you can provide this written proof, is it?" First question out and she chewed on the next one a moment before speaking.
"Why is it you're so keen on helping? You've never done something before unless you have some benefit to you. Never mind the fact you practically admitted to there being some change having happened before."
...probably surprise!opponent Mothman.
Still...he reached for his journal and flipped through to an entry that's clearly locked to the DA. He practically waved it in the girl's face, leaning back in his chair again.
"I kind of have no options otherwise. Unless you really want my motivations, but good luck with that. Look. I'm only willing to tolerate this because no one else has. The DA's fallen apart, and because of it there are people out there that are at a disadvantage."
Who would mothman be?
Sharp eyes eyed the journal and the entry. The image was herself and it was locked but... Malfoy. Malfoy was in the D.A.? That fit considering his question, but why had he been... What happened that made them trust Malfoy enough to be in the D.A.?
Her attention shot back to Draco easily, furrowed brow and thin lined frown on her features as she listened. He was taking into consideration of other people, that was not the Malfoy she knew. Not in the least. And he'd come out of here in some sort of concern, that much was noticeable. Really, all of this was giving her more of a headache in one day than Luceti had in general almost.
Finally she took a breath.
"Explain." The word was simple and to the point.
...(thinking) good question :|
"Where exactly would you like me to start? In case you forgot, Granger, I'm not entirely likely just to tell you everything I know. Ask questions, you may receive answers."
