Summary:After draft and experiment, Ven's super belated 'birthday' party is finally underway! Food, fun, derping, and mingling are all a-okay.
Rating: Probably no more than PG.

[After being suitably distracted by Sora earlier in the day (and any others who might've jumped in), the last thing Ven expects when he finally enters the Rec Center is a party.

So when the lights are on and he sees everyone-- and everything there? He just grins widely with a look of excitement and surprise all at once!

Let's get this party started.]

I try not to let anybody push me around. There's a difference between being helpful and being used, and I know some people do try to manipulate others.

Good. I know Banjo was a lot like that - just did stuff for people all the time, even when he shouldn't've. I figure he could've stood to grow a spine.

[That was almost her job, making sure Banjo didn't get too mushy. And likewise, he stopped her from getting too rough...]

Still. What's it like being older, anyway? Any different? [As a cartoon, Kazooie's not sure what it's like to age...]

[That's... a good question. Ven actually has to think that over for a second, and then he shrugs.]

Not really. I mean, I don't feel any different, even if a lot's happened over the past year.

Huh. Stuff didn't change much for me from year to year either, but being in this place might make it a bit different.

[... Living in Luceti is very different from living in her games before. Those tended to happen over what felt like a much more brief period.]

Well, I went through a few experiments, made some new friends, fought through a bunch of drafts.

[A pause, and he looks a bit somber for a split second.]

And some dangerous stuff happened, too. Stuff that's kinda complicated.

Complicated stuff, huh? Usually when that happens there's a puzzle or something to solve. Or a bunch of bad guys to kick around. Or both!

Well, it was pretty dangerous, that's for sure.

But dangerous things are the most fun things, usually!

At least, they're the most fun for a tough heroic type.

They can be pretty exciting, but this was... different. It was something really serious, and I couldn't do anything about it.

It's a long story. Has a lot to do with a guy named Vanitas.

I appreciate it, Kazooie. He's actually still here, but I'm putting him through... rehab, I guess. Trying to help change things around so he stops being so dangerous.

Is this guy that important to you? [Somehow, she can't picture a bad person being important to Ventus. But then again, he's all soft and nice like Banjo.]
