Summary: The X-Men have decided to invite some of their buddies and pals (who all coincidentally have costumed alteregos) for some Turkey Day shenanigans.

Over the past week, the X-Men have invited a variety of their friends and contacts who they knew would celebrate Thanksgiving, but wouldn't have anyone to spend it with here in Luceti because they're all jaded loners. They were all instructed to try and bring a dish with them, but it was no requirement. Nevertheless, all the traditional foods would be present, along with some delicious extras.

ooc: Characters can interact out at the table eating, over on the couches, in the one of the two spare bedrooms, or preparing food in the kitchen. Or maybe catching some cool air outside on the porch. Whatever your fancy is! Also, prose or action brackets are cool. Pick your poison.

Ororo had been glad when Steve accepted the invitation. Though she didn't really celebrate the holiday herself, she knew it was important that people not be alone this time of the year - or any time of the year, really. She met him at the door with a warm and welcome smile.

"Steve, hello. Glad you could make it."

"Hello, Ororo." Hey, where else would he be? He returned the smile and glanced around for somewhere to put down the dish he brought, as well as getting a look at the house and the guests. There aren't a lot of people, but that's probably for the best. He even knows a couple of them sort of.

"Here, let me get that for you. We can set it with the rest of the dishes on the table..." She reached for the food he brought along with him and gestured towards the dining table. There's an empty space on there somewhere, if they look hard enough.

"... As you can see, Rogue really outdid herself on the menu. And with everyone else bringing food of their own, well." She chuckled, clearing a way a space for Steve's contribution. "I suppose we won't be going hungry for a few days."

Ororo smiled kindly. "It's no trouble, truly. No one should be alone for the holidays, especially in a place like this. After all, friends should stick together, should they not?"

Memories of the past few Thanksgivings he's experienced during the war had been on Steve's mind since he'd been invited. Despite the grimness of the fighting, celebrating with the Howling Commandos managed to be a cheerful affair.

"It's certainly better than my first week after waking up in the 21st century." He chuckles a little before continuing. "I can't remember the last time I went for this long without having to fight someone or something." Seriously, he'd only been in New York for a few hours before an arch nemesis from the past tried to kill him. And then there were the slime monsters.
