Summary: The X-Men have decided to invite some of their buddies and pals (who all coincidentally have costumed alteregos) for some Turkey Day shenanigans.

Over the past week, the X-Men have invited a variety of their friends and contacts who they knew would celebrate Thanksgiving, but wouldn't have anyone to spend it with here in Luceti because they're all jaded loners. They were all instructed to try and bring a dish with them, but it was no requirement. Nevertheless, all the traditional foods would be present, along with some delicious extras.

ooc: Characters can interact out at the table eating, over on the couches, in the one of the two spare bedrooms, or preparing food in the kitchen. Or maybe catching some cool air outside on the porch. Whatever your fancy is! Also, prose or action brackets are cool. Pick your poison.

"And let Rogue catch me scuffing up the furniture? I think she dislikes me enough as it is."

"Nah, I think she's just being her grumpy-likable self."

"If you can call that likeable." Not that he's one to judge. "But I guess every good team needs someone like her."

"I call it kind of prickly, but endearing," she pauses, looking thoughtful. "But back home? She's the fun loving one."

He'll stare at Jubilee, then back toward Rogue. "You're kidding."

"I know, it's weird, right? My Rogue doesn't do the whole goth thing. I mean, it's cool, but she's more rough-and-tumble southern gal." She nods over towards Gambit. "Those two are like this inseparably thing there too."

Regarding Gambit just makes his business face come back a lot quicker.

"What's she doing associating with him?"

"Don't you start too."

"He's not the one you know from your world. And from what I understand, hanging out with Magneto is bad news on any world."

"Maybe not, but he's still Gambit!" Sigh. "Look, okay, no matter what world he belongs to? He's still Gambit. And he's younger than the one I know, so that pretty much explains everything."

"He's dangerous, Jubilee."

"Isn't everyone in this room?"

"Everyone in this room hasn't used their powers against the friends we have here."

Well. Melanie notwithstanding. And even Robin has to admit that she hasn't actively done anything inherently evil since she's been here.

"Well, not ev-," she bristles, the fork is starting make sizzling noises. She shouldn't have left her gloves off. "... Look. I really don't know what it's like in their world or how bad things are, but I know Gambit. I know he's done shady things in his past, I know, but if he's not going around trying to kill people then I don't have a problem with him."

Her eyebrows fork down sharply. "Magneto... he doesn't have any goals to achieve here. Even if he did show up again. Everyone here is living in equality."

"Everyone here is living in a cage," Robin corrected quietly. "There's nothing equal about the conditions."

But he does have the courtesy to keep from saying more. Jubilee never seems to like it when he details exactly how invasive and uncomfortable their prison is. And that sizzling hasn't gone unnoticed either.

"Look. I'm sorry. Can we start over?"

There's definite relief. Relief which is going to slide away into slight sarcasm and a wry smile. It's not like she doesn't know that they're trapped. Every day, she's reminded that she's from a very different world from the other people here. Things are... different.

She could talk about it. The pick pocketing, the living in the mall, the mutant control agency, bouncing from home to home and knowing that, if she hadn't met the X-Men when she had, she probably wouldn't be standing here. GENOSHA, saving the world, going into outerspace, going back in time. But all of that is too heavy, there are too many thoughts she doesn't want to have.

"Hi, I'm Jubilee, nice to meet you." She drops the fork and holds out a hand. "I like your cape."

Heaviness doesn't suit Jubilee anyway. She's at her best when she's bubbling around bordering on annoying but never quite crossing over. It's better when she's happy.

"It's a pleasure. I'm Robin." He smiles and accepts her hand, giving it a firm shake. "And thanks. The cape's a high-density polymerized titanium. Ten times stronger than steel." And stylish, too.

"And my favorite color to boot." She shakes back, giving a firm grip. It's a CHALLENGE. Except not totally.

Not at all, as this is one competition Robin's willing to throw. He relinquishes easily without losing any of his good humor.
