New Year's brings images of crowds, and songs, and fireworks; staying up til midnight and watching balls or bells being rung. But Luceti is a different time and place. Whether you're partying with friends or watching the sunrise, what are you doing today?

Is that so? Fuuko hasn't been here as long as you Daisy-san, so there have always been fireworks the entire time Fuuko has been here.

[Something catches Fuuko's eye in Daisy's direction. Fuuko thought it was nothing at first, but when another firework goes off and Daisy twitches again she can't just write it off as nothing.]

Kotomi-san is very clever like that. She knows more about the starfish than Fuuko probably ever will, but she always answers any questions Fuuko might have about them.

[Norma watches both displays, the flaming sparks Ace gave off, and the colorful bursts from the cherry tree hill. Each one, different yet still fun and beautiful to watch, lit up her face and eyes with their various colors. She'd never seen fireworks this close up before! It was...really something.

Managing to keep her balance was a little hard, but she did well enough, and only held back onto Ace's arm when she was sure he wasn't sizzling.]

Still got my booze, Hothead? You've gotten drink this time around, right?! It's a celebration, so I wanna see that stuff flowing!

Back home, Yotsuba would watch them with daddy and Jumbo and Ena and Miura. We all sat and a blanket and it was really cool!

Sounds fun! I watched the fireworks with my friends back home, too. But some of the ones here are pretty different, huh?

Oh yeah, some of the ones here go like 'whoosh' and then boom! But the fireworks at home would go 'wheeeeesssh' and then KA-BOOM!! Really different!

[It's a strange feeling, being now with Keimi like this... caressing eachother. Daisy keeps her eyes closed, in a strange sense of union she had only felt with other Spartans, and Valvalis, before her.

A hand lowers a little to lift Keimi towards the bigger girl, and moves a little forward. Her white wings spread a little.

After a while, Daisy's lips disconnect from Keimi's... and form a wide smile, unable to contain a giggle.

It's a strange feeling, to feel so vulnerable and so safe. And yet she's happy.]

Yeaaah, this place has lots of cool stuff! Like, this one time, Yotsuba met this pirate! He's named Captain Jack and he has a pony. And then Yotsuba got a sidekick called fluffy Buffy. Then Yotsuba and Otonashy had candy and it was good.

[Oh. For a moment, he goes quiet. Honestly, he had forced himself back into the habit. After all, what happened between them and their mother, what happened on that cliff...

There was a time he didn't want to call her sister. Or friend. Or anything.

He casts his gaze downward, suddenly distracted by the tiles on the roof. He's not really sure how to explain it. But. He can try.]

I... guess it was kind of silly before. [Even though he's not looking at her, he sort of smiles, feeling a bit self conscious at the confession.]

Growing up, I only had my parents. I mean... I could never go to school or play with other kids in the village. I always thought it would be great to have a sister or brother. They wouldn't care about the way I looked or what I am. That's how it worked for the kids in the village... or in books... or on TV. So when I found out my real mother was like your mother too... it was like I finally got that, yeah? At least, that's how it was then.
