Where: Battle Dome
Summary: Two strapping young lads beating the crap out of each other while people mingle and bet and have a jolly good time! Again, feel free to have your characters discuss things not relating to the match and catch up with friends (or say hello to strangers!) when popping in.
Rating: PG for mentions of blood.


What better way to enjoy the afternoon than to watch a good old fashioned beat-down in a holographic ring? Please, feel free to place bets on the winner, take a seat in the simulation room itself or the Viewing Area, chitchat with the person next to you, and have fun!

If he was rubber, taking these blows wouldn’t have been a problem. But as it were, he was taking much more damage than he was expecting. His face was starting to swell up, his vision was beginning to blur from the sweat dripping in his eye and the continuous blows from Mac’s punches. But he didn’t go down. Luffy was stubborn like that. And even though this wasn’t a life and death battle, he was not going to let Mac have an easy win.

He could tell his plan was working though. Mac’s punches were starting to become sluggish, they weren’t doing as much damage as before. This was the chance. He had been getting punched for a good half a minute now. His plan worked. Mac had taken the bait. On Mac’s next punch Luffy is going to is duck down extremely quickly. Dodging it just before the punch can connect to his face. And then, in a single burst of speed he’s going to go for a full uppercut to Mac’s chin. If the other one knocked him out, this one was definitely going to KO him for good.

But something was… off. His balance wasn’t quite steady. He had taken so many blows and one of his eyes was so swollen that it knocked his aim off. Only half of his fist collided with Mac’s chin before it slipped off from the sweat, upper cutting nothing but air. He had left himself wide open…

While not cleanly connecting, the punch jarred his jaw, sending a dangerous tremor rippling through his legs. Wobbling, Mac blinked Luffy back into focus, aware his own left eyebrow and eyelid were beginning to swell up.

But this was his shot.

Adrenaline and awareness surged through him like a powerful electric current, his heart pounding more furiously.

Though cotton-mouthed and groggy, he was suddenly as ready as he could be – and he found himself so wholly possessed by single-minded determination that he didn't hear the groan that escaped him as he dropped into a half-squat with his right arm cocked at his side, his muscles quivering with the strain. Then, reaching deep within himself and dredging up his strength, he squeezed his eyes shut and sprung into the air as his body released like a tightly coiled spring. Mac thrust his arm high with his glove aimed squarely for Luffy’s chin...

Luffy was too off-balanced to dodge a move like that. So he clinched his teeth down on his mouth guard and took the punch out right. It wouldn’t be enough to knock him out completely. He might get knocked down from it, but he would be able to get back up again. When Mac’s attack lands it slams into the Afro Captain hard, which knocks him off his feet and on his back against the boxing ring mat. The virtual referee starts to count.

But it doesn’t take long for Luffy to start to gain his bearings and pull himself up. His legs are wobbly from the uppercut, but he seemed to be okay. He looked more than cable of fighting. He managed to even get up before the referee could even count to five. The ref goes to inspect him.

Only to find Luffy is swaying from side to side, his vision almost completely unfocused.

He was dizzy. Which likely started to become painfully obvious to the crowd as he began to stumble… around the entire ring. “Ehhhhhhhh~…” That was the thing about Luffy. He had been rubber for well over the past decade. And because he was rubber, he never had to suffer any consequences from taking repeated blows to the head (unless they were Haki induced or Blackbeard). So letting Mac beat his face in for a third of the round seemed like a good idea at the time... an idea that probably would've been more effective if he had his normal "monstrous" capabilities. But now that he was simply human, it didn't work quite as well as he hoped.

It takes a good while of him stumbling before his back eventually comes into contact with the ring's ropes and he kind of... slips. His legs go up into the air and his body tilts over the ropes causing him to fall completely out of the arena.

Don't worry guys he's fine! Just you know. Probably won't be getting undizzy anytime soon.
