Summary: Placing bets and taking swings.

Let's get ready to rumble, boys and girls! A few quick notes:

Double check the fight roster--I moved some things around, namely matching up Firo with Homura since their respective opponents weren't able to participate. Let me know if something is amiss!

Characters who are fighting will be told their opponent's name upon arrival, and fights will proceed in the order they appear on the roster up there. Let me know if you need to be moved around for whatever reason!

Tony and Shikamaru will be policing the fights for any funny business, but fights will end when one of the participants forfeits or gets knocked out cold. So your character can get bloodied, bludgeoned, and broken and keep going if they wish! Remember, there's no magic since this is in the tunnels, and there are no weapons allowed in the fights. Just your fists, elbows, et cetera.

And should they have some owwies that need attention, Adele, Katara, Luca and Ange will be on hand to provide medical assistance. What troopers.

Spectators can interact however and whenever they want, so feel free to start a new thread for your character who is watching!

Now have fun, and earn some radical new scars while you're at it!

[Luca's looking more nervous than he has in a while; he's starting to feel like he's going to regret signing up for this, but... there's no way he's going to get better at things unless he tries, right? And it wouldn't do him any good to get caught off-guard without his powers...

When he sees who he's paired up with, though, he tries to think if he knows anyone by that name. It sounded a little familiar - maybe it'd been mentioned to him before? - but it doesn't bring any faces and he's left to stew in his own juices a little ways away from the crowd and wonder if he's going to live through the night.

Especially considering the other participants of tonight's event.

P-Pao-lin! I... um... I thought it'd be good to get some practice with hand-to-hand combat, especially since I might not be able to use my powers all the time... and, um, I'm also getting hands-on experience with medicine by helping out... Are you just here to watch?

I wish I could've signed up, though. It sounded like it could be fun.

[She didn't mind the simulations like some other fighting-minded types did, but there was definitely a different quality to real-world skirmishes that she liked.]

I'm sure Spada will be able to beat him, though! [She smiles encouragingly at Luca.] And I'm sure you'll do fine, too, whether you win or not.

Oh, he definitely will. There's no one I know that's better at fighting quick and dirty. [But wait, give him a moment--] I-- Um. I'll probably come out with a lot more injuries than Spada, but... I guess I'll be fine. I'm not really much of a fighter.

[Pao-Lin glances around, frowning.]

Um...there are other doctors and stuff here, right? You're not the only one?

Ange is here, as are, um... I believe her name is Adele... and Katara... I haven't spoken to them much, but I think I'm going to end up helping them out more than actually tending to anyone.

Oh, I know Katara, sort of! I didn't realize she was a healer, though. [She smiles.] That's good, then, that we've got lots of doctors here. But hopefully nobody gets hurt too badly. [Even she's skeptical about that, though. With the tunnels canceling out any special powers, everyone was just regular humans down here.]

I'm sure they won't. How much damage can one do without their powers? I know I couldn't do much... but I guess most of the people who signed up had some experience in fighting, so... I guess that's a stupid question, huh...

Mmm. People can do a lot of damage without powers. [She almost sounds as though she's speaking from experience.] But this should be referee'd, right? So I don't think it'd be too nasty.

Well, I... I don't know about that... [DEPENDS ON HOW DETERRED HE GETS THIS TIME AROUND.] We seem to have much more skilled healers here than me, and everyone's a better fighter... but I guess I did join up to try and get better at both of those, so it'd be a waste to not go to another one if there is...

[He also couldn't excuse two or more days spent with her to Iria. She was all right with the "art lessons" thing except she was all ANGRYY, but he doesn't think she'd like the idea of combat training... especially hand-to-hand.]
