Summary: Placing bets and taking swings.

Let's get ready to rumble, boys and girls! A few quick notes:

Double check the fight roster--I moved some things around, namely matching up Firo with Homura since their respective opponents weren't able to participate. Let me know if something is amiss!

Characters who are fighting will be told their opponent's name upon arrival, and fights will proceed in the order they appear on the roster up there. Let me know if you need to be moved around for whatever reason!

Tony and Shikamaru will be policing the fights for any funny business, but fights will end when one of the participants forfeits or gets knocked out cold. So your character can get bloodied, bludgeoned, and broken and keep going if they wish! Remember, there's no magic since this is in the tunnels, and there are no weapons allowed in the fights. Just your fists, elbows, et cetera.

And should they have some owwies that need attention, Adele, Katara, Luca and Ange will be on hand to provide medical assistance. What troopers.

Spectators can interact however and whenever they want, so feel free to start a new thread for your character who is watching!

Now have fun, and earn some radical new scars while you're at it!

[She notes the bandage pressed to his head and briefly mourns the lost opportunity for iodine - for barely a second.]

How are you feeling?

...I won! I totally won- did you see it?! I kicked his ass?!

[He even laughs. Which gives him a headache and exasperates his other aches, but he's on cloud nine]

[...so that's how it is, huh? A small, wry smile.]

I saw it.

[She tilts her head to the side a little.]

Move your hand, I need to see your head.

[Nod, still with an overly proud grin. He moves his hand for her]

[Such a proud grin. She's... not sure this is an area she wants to touch, but she knows very well how good it feels to beat someone you thought was unbeatable.

She smooths back his hair and leans in to check out the cut - despite the pressure he's had on it, it immediately starts bleeding again.]

Looks like it could use a stitch or two. Or we could step outside and I could heal it, it's up to you.

[No seriously, he's laughing]

[Well, he's in a good mood, at least. She can't help but feel sober, after having watched that. She's not angry at either of them - she knew what she was going to see - but it's still a hard thing to watch your friends hurting each other, even if they have consented to it and each have a reason.

She is proud of him, though. Not because he won, because that wasn't entirely unexpected, but because he stopped. She remembers how he still almost came after her during that one spar. This was different. It was better. And she's glad of it.]

If you can make it outside, I'd rather check it out there. That way I can check for swelling and see if anything else needs healing.

Achacha, as you command.

[And he's going to get to his feet. His injuries are, well, sort of many and ache and all, but they aren't enough to make it difficult to stand or to walk. He'll get up to do that relatively easily]

[Before she leads the way out, she pauses to press more gauze to his head.]

Hold that there.

Will do.

[Pressing. Lead on, girl]

[And lead on she does, warily glancing back a few times to see whether or not he's still upright and following. Once outside, she shivers a little, dark and cold and tired, but she breathes a little better outside, with the full return of all her senses, and she turns to him with a certain professional pleasantness. She said she'd be there for them, so she is.]

You can lean against the wall if you like.

I'll just...

[Sit on the ground. Right here. That's okay, right...??]

[Actually, she'd rather you were flat for this but... head wound. She'd also rather that was elevated, so. She moves to sit on his wounded side.]

That's fine for now. [She draws some water out of her waterskin and coats her hand with it, ready to move it up to his face.] You can drop your hand now.

Roger that... [He's still sort of smiling as he drops it. It's not as big as it was before, but he is certainly still smiling]

[She places a water-coated hand on the wound, sterilizing it and halting the bleeding. She uses Nala to close the cut, but Katara's more concerned with swelling and concussions. Yeah, the chi pathways are all inflamed - that's got to be one killer of a headache. It's not too long before as she starts bringing it down, calmly easing it and taking away the pain.

Satisfied, she shifts to move two water-coated hands to frame his jaw next. Shikamaru was right - it's all connected into that headache.]

Seems like he loosened a tooth in one of those hits.

[She concentrates on fixing it and looks at her hands, and very much on not looking at him as this position is more intimate than she'd normally like, considering.]

[But he is noticing everything. Even in his euphoria, the (wet) touch is obvious, particularly when it's on his jaw. It sobers his elation a little, and makes him look up at her again. He's not sure if a vocal reply would throw her off though. He decides there's a chance of that, and ... well. His heart rate is picking up]

[...this is one of those rare moments - in fact, she's not sure she's even had one of these moments before - but she really wishes that he would talk. She can feel him looking at her, and it's... uncomfortable.]

There.

[A quick smile as she glances up at him and removes her hands.] Now you should stand up or lay down so that I can get at the rest.

[She needs to get at that chest/shoulder area where Shikamaru first connected.]

[He opts to lay down. It's not so much that he can't stand, but given him being a little taller he figures this is probably more appropriate for her to well... you know. But now he can talk so-]

Maan, that does feel better.

[And she moves to kneel parallel to his shoulders, reaching down to lightly touch his chest, locate the affected area, and then use a combination of her own healing and Nala in order to make it better as quickly as possible. It's cold out here, after all.]

Good. You shouldn't have to worry about a concussion, but I'll double-check when I'm done.

[Because sometimes you can set things to rights and they will spring right back to wrongs after a little time. The amount of time it takes to heal what's bound to be a nasty bruise on his chest should be sufficient to check...

Unless he's going to pull a similar "don't heal me all the way" move as Shikamaru did, but if Masaomi doesn't say anything, Katara's certainly not going to bring it up.]

[No but he is going to go a bit left field here. Laying down like this, feeling elated with his victory and her hands on his chest... he reaches out to - what? He ends up going to touch her arm. Not for any particular reason, but that's his intent]

[Unfortunately, since her hands are actually on his chest, she can't move to effectively block his hand as she'd like. But she does shift away from his touch, throwing her weight to the side to avoid it.]

Stop. Leave your hand down.

[Moving while she's healing makes the healing strange, but then... if that had been her only reason for saying this, she probably wouldn't have shifted out of the way.]

[...Weird. Well, he'll lower his hand in compliance until she's done, but that was a bit much]

[What's a bit much? She's got Realizations and Resolutions and Rules and they all make perfect sense, okay, okay?

And once she's done with healing his shoulder/chest area she'll move one hand to stream the water back in the waterskin while lifting the other one, still coated with water, to his forehead. It's easier to check it like this, and far less awkward than sitting across from him and putting her hands on his face. This is just - checking, is all. And that's all she wants it to be.

Moon and stars, it's late.]

Mmm... [She closes her eyes for a second, sends her concentration all the way down his chi system from head to toe. Then she nods and withdraws that hand as well.]

You'll still be a little weak and wobbly, but that's because I'm letting you recover some of your equilibrium naturally. Go get some sleep, but if you wake up with a headache tomorrow morning, journal me. You shouldn't though. You're all set.

[And she starts to stand, streaming that water into her waterskin as well.]

Let's get back inside, it's cold out here.

[Alright then, Masaomi Kida, it's time to go broke and go bold. As she's starting to stand, he's going to get to his feet (possibly even before her because what is his ridiculous core strength, and when he does he's going to go in for a hand on the shoulder. Just. Like. That.]

[And so it was that her seeking to distance herself by not helping him up (since she knew he was fine and could handle it) came back to haunt her. Katara didn't expect him to try and touch her again, but since he does make it up before her and then he does reach out before she has a chance to turn away, she has plenty of time to block it. And that is exactly what she does, reaching up with the back of her hand to lightly intercept his palm in a circular move not unlike bending, and she will move to push his hand further away so that she can drop her own back to her side.]

Don't do that. Let's just go inside.

[And she'll shift her gaze in preparation of moving to start doing just that.]
