Let's get ready to rumble, boys and girls! A few quick notes:

Double check the fight roster--I moved some things around, namely matching up Firo with Homura since their respective opponents weren't able to participate. Let me know if something is amiss!

Characters who are fighting will be told their opponent's name upon arrival, and fights will proceed in the order they appear on the roster up there. Let me know if you need to be moved around for whatever reason!

Tony and Shikamaru will be policing the fights for any funny business, but fights will end when one of the participants forfeits or gets knocked out cold. So your character can get bloodied, bludgeoned, and broken and keep going if they wish! Remember, there's no magic since this is in the tunnels, and there are no weapons allowed in the fights. Just your fists, elbows, et cetera.

And should they have some owwies that need attention, Adele, Katara, Luca and Ange will be on hand to provide medical assistance. What troopers.

Spectators can interact however and whenever they want, so feel free to start a new thread for your character who is watching!

Now have fun, and earn some radical new scars while you're at it!

[If it helps any, he says it more matter-of-factly than dismissively. He's got no problems with fighting girls.]

Yeah, that's her. I've never met her though. [She gets a suspicious look.] Are you gonna tell me to go easy on her too?

No. I hate this whole idea, but if it was me volunteering I'd be furious if you went easy on me. Besides, Xion's been training with Suki for a while now. She should know what she can handle.

See, that's what I figured! If she's signing up for something like this, she must have some confidence in what she can do, right? But Sokka kept saying I should wear a glove on my automail. It's kind of insulting.

I can see his point - getting hit with your automail has got to be like getting hit with a crowbar. It gives you a pretty big advantage in a fight like this. But in any sort of real fight, you have to learn to adapt to whatever advantage the other fighter has, so you won't be doing her any favors if this is what she wants.

[But. Ow.]

I've had automail for a long time, I know how hard it can hit. I can be careful without giving myself a handicap.

Then that might not be a bad idea - to be careful, I mean. [Because. Have you seen Xion? If not, Katara's going to point her out right now.]

I'm not saying go easy on her, but there's a difference between a spar and trying to kill someone. [No matter WHAT Luffy says.]

Some waterbenders can heal. [She nods, and figures since she may end up using it on him at some point giving him a little more info is fair.] We can use our water to manipulate someone's chi - their life force - and strengthen and encourage it back to normalcy and balance. There are some things it heals more quickly than others but... [and her face takes on a wry look] I got to know Nala pretty well shortly after I arrived here.

[Between that and all the medical lessons she's been taking with Ginko, Chopper, and Law, she's boss. Though with Adele here she doesn't think that brand of her expertise will be necessary.]

Oh, right, one of those... spirit things. [His expression probably makes it clear how trustworthy he is of that, but the life force bit he can get on board with.] About "chi"- doesn't it use it up to heal people? I mean, that energy has to go somewhere, right?

[Unless it's something completely different than the soul energy of a Philosopher's Stone. If that's the case, it could come in handy.]

What? No, of course not! That wouldn't be helping people at all.

[That sounds like it'd be taking years off their life instead and just - no. That's not how it works.]

[...Huh. Edward's expression shifts, more thoughtful now. So it's like alkahestry, then... this could come in handy, actually.]

"Chi"... that word's come up in some of the reading I've done lately, about a different sort of alchemy. Where I'm from, there's two types: one uses energy, and the other I think must channel it, like what you said.

Really? [A light of eager interest kindles in her gaze.] I didn't know that there were books that dealt with chi here.

It might not be the same- I found it in an alkahestry book. But it's a similar idea- using life force from people and the planet itself and shifting it from one place to another in the body. I don't really understand what it means, though... the alchemy I know uses tectonic energy, not life.

I don't know anything about planets having any kind of life force... in our world, spirits our entwined with the planet, so I don't think... it quite works that way. If anyone would know about that... [Aang would.] it would be a friend of mine who isn't here anymore.

But you're right about the other thing. Channeling the energy in the body is a lot more like what it is that I do.

Is... that something you could teach? Not Waterbending, I know that much, but... feeling that kind of energy. Or whatever you do to start bending. Al and I have been trying for months but we just can't figure it out- it's totally different from what we've always been taught.

[At which point she comes to something that's been making her more uncomfortable recently - her healing works. It works on things she doesn't even completely understand. It works on brainwashing, it works - anchoring souls to bodies, and with the help of the spirit water it can even... bring people back to life.

But she doesn't know why. She's not even completely sure how. When she'd had the chance to learn to heal or to learn to fight, she'd chosen to learn to fight. And she doesn't regret it. She just wishes she'd had the chance to learn how to do both.]

I don't really... know. I know that it's possible for some swordsmen to learn how to sense chi, and I've been teaching Chopper all I know about the chi pathways on Sundays, if you think that will help, then... [she shrugs] I'll ask him if you can come.

[Or maybe there's some sort of experiment that they could thing of... meditative exercises... something.]

Yeah, sure. If you don't mind. [He glances down at his fist, his expression somewhat uncertain.] It's just... I have to learn somehow. Alchemy's useless for healing, and if something happens-

[His cuts off, expression shifting before he moves to just shrug his shoulders.]

Anyway, just let me know.

I will. If not, maybe we can figure something else out.

[You know, in her copious amount of spare time. But she figures she owes you something for teaching Sokka alchemy.]
