Movie Marathon!

Who: Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Arsene Lupin III, Ami Mizuno, Adele Leblanc, Leonardo, Gambit, and anyone else who has the desire to show up.
What: Star Wars Movie Marathon
When: February 21st to whenever its done
Where: Luke and Ben's place
Summary: Luke and Ben have decided to just end the constant cycle of confusion and actually WATCH the Star Wars movies. There is soda (gasp!) popcorn, canned tea, and all sorts of other movie related nonsense.
Rating: PG, same as the movies (Could get PG13? doubtful)

Oven it is, then. [Because he is confident in his cooking, but letting stuff go cold just isn't how he rolls. It'd probably still taste good, but still.]

An' it's jambalaya. Good ol' home-style cookin'. Not quite a snack, but if anybody else's as hungry as I am, it'll come in handy.

I'd feel the same. [Though she still wouldn't be comfortable with her friends watching it.

Maybe that makes her somewhat deceptive, wanting to hide the bad parts of herself.]

Alright, I'll leave it to the chef to decide where it should go then. I probably should have thought more about real food, but I suppose its too late for that now. I'm glad you thought ahead.

[Luke notices Robert standing off by himself, and he decides to attempt to pull him into the party. He remembers their previous conversation, and figures that perhaps the best way is to engage him on his interests...WITH SCIENCE!!!! Have a Jedi all up in your business, this time with a DROID]

Robert? Hey, its good to finally meet you in person. I hope you are well after the last week. If you have a moment, I'd like to show you what I managed to get finished, with that project we were speaking about the other day.

Well, I appreciate you coming. Obi-Wan and I also want this party to be a good time, so that maybe everyone can forget about the last week. Having fun and celebrating companionship tends to heal quite a lot.

[kineticcajun]

[Soft chuckle.] No problem. Jus' hopin' nobody's too sensitive 'bout spicy food, 'cause that might be a problem if they're wantin' any of it.

[It isn't Cajun cooking if it isn't spicy, if you ask him.]

[Now, Gambit doesn't do well with scientist-types. The last overtly-scientist-looking person he was around was when he was in Sinister's lab, and that's far from a happy memory. And so even though he didn't really have any intention of going over and being all buddy-buddy, he doesn't need his empath senses to be tingling to tell the guy's uncomfortable.

For a moment, he stalls on saying anything, but then the spontaneous organization starts and Gambit just barely suppresses a snort of amusement.

Screw it, this guy's probably harmless. Plus he's been lurking around the turtles and Gambit already knows Leonardo's a good guy. ...Turtle.]

You okay over there, homme?

[She nods slightly, and makes a vaguely agreeable sound.]

Could you tell me anything about it? No, nevermind. I'd like to be surprised.

[Once Derek has found a nice, comfy chair to settle into, he'll be looking around. It doesn't take him long to spy Robert, and notice who the scientist seems to hover around.

It won't keep him from looking away, of course. Derek's never really had a chance to get a good look at Don's other half, and he'll take the chance to do so now while everyone is more or less distracted with the movie.

So, yeah...Robert might get that 'being watched' feeling after a little bit.]

Distractions are a good thing then. Just what you need.

[Lupin accepts the cognac, studying its label as he hefts the weight of it in his hands. Cracking it open for a try was tempting, but that would ruin its shelf life. Drinking on meds was no fear for him, especially since he was on over-the-counter strength doses of a common anti-inflammatory.]

This looks like a really nice brew, which is a little surprising around here. I've found decent whiskey, bourbon, and rum, but I haven't looked too hard at the wines. Since I can't find my Gitanes, I didn't think I'd find anything too interesting.

I'll save it for a special ocassion. Thanks.

[The hunter's smile is easy and relaxed. He'll wander into the place far enough to find a nice wall to lean up against for the moment while he checks everything and everyone out.]

Got a pretty good gathering going here. Maybe you should have put a red carpet out.

I actually brought the blankets and stuff because, with how long this marathon could take? We're gonna be here all night, with breaks for food and hanging out included.]

Maybe you should simmer down, get a bit to eat, and get cozy. Redecorating is not a good way to watch movies.

[Implying that his attempt at actual cooking sucks. Be glad he didn't bring instant noodles and an electric kettle, Gambit.]

[Gambit gives it a look. He's sure this is going to be terrible. But hey, if the nachos really suck, Lupin can pay for it in kinetic nacho explosion.

And so he'll carefully take one, eyeing it distrustfully, before eating it.]

...'Least it's spicy.

[Have a Jedi. A Jedi who has somehow silently and stealthily made his way to right behind you as you're arranging things.]

"I appreciate the thought, but we can keep things neatly arranged, friend."

"I don't believe I am, either."

[Obi-Wan reaches out and gently brushes it off without really thinking about it.]

[Obi-Wan grins at the canned tea.]

"I believe I'll stick with the hot, freshly-brewed variety, Luke, thank you."

"Gambit it shall be, then."

[He gives Gambit a friendly clap on the shoulder and moves off to mingle some more.]

[Obi-Wan greets Lupin rather quickly after he comes through the door.]

"Glad you could make it. How is everything?"

[Everything, in this case, is not code for "Your recent feelings of rage and frustration which you were having issues with." Nope. Not at all. He'll just be helping you find a free table space for your cheesy wedges of fried starch now.]
