[After however long they have between the third movie and this, Adele takes the time to enjoy what food was brought to the gathering. Gambit's Jambalaya, Helios' beingets, Lupin's nachos, etc. A cup of coffee as well. Once the fourth disk is popped in she finishes what she's served herself, disposes of the trash appropriately, and settles back in her blanket for the first of the movies she was more familiar with, and far more fond of, than the last.]

[The thing about an erratic REM cycle is that sleep catches up at strange moments. For Lupin, that meant it hit him during the first of the movies he's familiar with.

It's the same story he's seen a million times before, the film that drove him and his mentor, Mark Williams,to go steal the reels from the largest local cinema just before opening weekend. It was a race; Williams won, like always. But it was a victory for both of them--they got to see the film before hundreds of other fans in the city they were residing in. Was it Barcelona? Madrid? Maybe somewhere in Italy or France? The days flew by for Lupin during those years, as fast as they trekked through the European landscape. Eventually they all blended in to one expansive vista.

For now, however, Lupin sleeps soundly, in a rare moment of peace.]

[Before she settles in for the rest of the movies Adele pauses to check on Lupin. The passed out thief makes her smile a little, and she even spares the blanket she's been hogging for three whole movies to tuck it around him, as the room had gotten a little chilly. She wrote it off as something in the weather. Still, there was no reason for him not to be comfortable. It didn't take long and there were other quilts Lupin had brought up for the marathon. Satisfied that he was adequately covered she returns to her spot on the sofa and bundles herself in for the first of the original trilogy.]

[Fujiko starts off asleep on Lupin's shoulder, but Harrison Ford's voice wakes her up, because yay! Han Solo.]

[And then she blinks at him for a bit. Then the room in general... and scoots away just a little bit. She'll wake him up for his favorite lines later though, because it's required.]

[He's awoken by repeated poking at a point in the film he's too sleepy to recognize at first, but the sounds of the cantina quickly remind him of where the narrative is. Mos Eisley, in the veritable hive of scum and villainy that was Tatooine. He glances over at Fujiko, smiling lazily.]

Oh good. I didn't miss a good part. Is this the original theatrical version, or the remastered special editions? [It's important, because Han Shot First.]
doubleppk: (Mm)

Original. [Since there was talk of it being less digital.] No stepping on Jabba's tail.
redjacketthief: (tell me this is a joke!)

This was when Lucas was of a 'less is more' mentality when it came to storytelling. There have been multiple updates and re-releases of these original three but- watching these in a theater with my father is one of my fondest memories. They are more compelling for the simplicity in effects.
fleurdesel: center, smile, smirk, flirty, sarcastic (I doubt it)

The way the narrative is depicted is cleaner, clearer, I think. He uses the characters to convey the importance of the story rather than special effects.

[She can't help but smile at the young, optimistic Luke on screen. Shades of that young man are still present in the Jedi Master in the room with her, and she is glad that even with all Luke has lived through he never lost it.]
fleurdesel: left, smile, smirk (Ignore my smugness)

No one ever does when they are presented with their younger selves on film.
