Movie Marathon!

Who: Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Arsene Lupin III, Ami Mizuno, Adele Leblanc, Leonardo, Gambit, and anyone else who has the desire to show up.
What: Star Wars Movie Marathon
When: February 21st to whenever its done
Where: Luke and Ben's place
Summary: Luke and Ben have decided to just end the constant cycle of confusion and actually WATCH the Star Wars movies. There is soda (gasp!) popcorn, canned tea, and all sorts of other movie related nonsense.
Rating: PG, same as the movies (Could get PG13? doubtful)

Luke...being somewhat overawed....

[After a small break for caffeine and a little bit of dinner, Luke sits back down to begin the second half of their journey. The events of the last film have been extremely enlightening, as that period of Jedi history had all but been wiped from existence by Palpatine. Though it had only happened 30 years ago, Luke had found more complete records of the Great Hyperspace War, and Naga Sadow's campaign of terror at the dawn of the Republic.

This, however, would not be new to Luke. It was his distant past. The film started with the familiar blaring music, and scrawling text that seemed extremely familiar. As the film opens, Luke can't help but sit up straight, immediately drawn in by the looming shadow of an Imperial Class Star Destroyer. He knew this ship well, as during the early stages of the Galactic Civil war, the Devastator had terrorized the Rebellion all along the Outer Rim.

He can't help himself, the opening of the film was compelling, and an interesting shift in cinematography...]

I...think I like this one better than the last 3 already. Its doesn't look as digital.

This was when Lucas was of a 'less is more' mentality when it came to storytelling. There have been multiple updates and re-releases of these original three but- watching these in a theater with my father is one of my fondest memories. They are more compelling for the simplicity in effects.

Its funny, you know. I've heard that from several people, that the ones we just finished weren't as good. This...seems more primitive, but have more...heart?

And...[He trails off as he sees himself for the first time...a much younger, more naive Luke Skywalker who had NO idea what was going to happen in less than a day's time

Wow. That...takes me back.

The way the narrative is depicted is cleaner, clearer, I think. He uses the characters to convey the importance of the story rather than special effects.

[She can't help but smile at the young, optimistic Luke on screen. Shades of that young man are still present in the Jedi Master in the room with her, and she is glad that even with all Luke has lived through he never lost it.]

Its true. But...you know, its hard to believe I was EVER that young.

No one ever does when they are presented with their younger selves on film.
