Summary: Nothing out of the ordinary with wanted to talk to your best friend, right? There never needs to be an excuse to see her smiling face.

[ She kicked her socks off, laying back on her bed. Today hadn't been anything special, as far as she could see. She had woken up, gotten food, and visited the library. Her day would have ended there, but for some reason, she couldn't find the girl she was looking for. Strange, to go to a library looking for someone, and not books. But the sheer volume of books at the library was the exact reason she did that. She had no idea where to start looking, or what even to look for. But Kotomi would know. She did know her better than anyone else in her life.

So now she was just waiting for her to come over, after a brief call they had. She swung her legs in partial excitement. It always made her happy to see Kotomi. She was her best friend back in high school, after all. And she was the only friend she felt like she would ever need. ]

[ It doesn't take too long for Kotomi to arrive there - even with her horrible sense of direction due to general obliviousness it's already easier to find a place if it belongs to a friend. And Shiki.. of course, she's definitely a friend of hers, with as much time as they have spent together both here and back home.

So Shiki might hear a small polite knock on her door after a little while. ]

[ She hears a small knock on the door. That must be her. A large smile spreads across her face. ]

Come in, Kotomi-chan! It's unlocked!

[ And so she opens the door, bowing politely at her friend before taking off her shoes at the door. Then Kotomi walks over to the bed where Shiki is lying, sitting down there as well with a small smile. ]

Shiki-chan, good morning. Are you doing well..?

[ She nods. ] Yeah, just kind of bored, you know? I tried looking for you in the library today, but I couldn't find you. [ Her eyes follow Kotomi as she sits down on the bed next to her. ]

How about you? You doing alright?

Sorry, Shiki-chan. Some things seem to be a little strange around the village today, so I was a little busy..

[ like her housemate turning into a teacup.. ]

But I'm okay. Just a little confused.

Confused? [ She looks to Kotomi with a look of concern. ] What's happening today? Is something the matter?

Haven't you noticed anything strange, Shiki-chan?

[ It's easier to just first ask her about it, after all - maybe it's just something about herself, that she's not getting something again.. ]

Hmmm. Well. [ She turns to Kotomi. ]

You aren't smiling like usual. Cheer up. I'm sure it's nothing. At least, I didn't see anything.

[ ... a-aw.. Hearing that from her best friend does help, actually. If she has Shiki's support, then it's okay, right? As long as she has Shiki.. ]

Sorry, Shiki-chan. I'll try to do my best to cheer up. I don't want to make you sad..

It won't make me sad. If something is bothering you, I can help. [ She scoots closer to Kotomi. Maybe a change of subject would help. ]

You have any new books today?

[ ~~Maybe making out would help.~~ ]

Yes, I do. I got some new ones from the library, so I thought Shiki-chan might be interested in them.. Even if I already read most of them.

I had this really really weird dream last night. You don't mind listening, right?

[ She nods, but.. she almost looks a little worried now. A really, really weird dream..? ]

Of course I don't mind. The two of us.. we're friends, after all. [ There's a brief smile before the worry returns. ]

What kind of really, really weird dream was it?

[ She pauses, before speaking. ]

I was living in this apartment by myself. And this guy would visit me a lot, I don't know what his name was. We'd just kind of talk, and for some reason...I was kind of cold, whenever I spoke.

Anyway, there was this weird case of suicides, and the guy went into a coma, so I went to investigate them. I was attacked by a ghost in this building, and I had to cut off my arm to escape. But when I went to cut it off...I could see these lines on it. It was really really weird.

I fought the ghost later, and those same lines were there. And I just cut on them to kill her. After I did, he woke up.

[ There's.. just a long stare, mostly. That really is a weird dream.. ]

You were fighting ghosts, Shiki-chan? And there were.. lines you cut to kill people? [ Her look drops a little. ] But.. killing people, that's bad. Even if it's a ghost.. It's something a bully would do.

Y-yeah! Exactly! I'd never do something like that, you know that Kotomi!

Agh. I didn't like it at all. It felt so real...

Of course.. Shiki-chan is not that kind of person.

[ sob, she feels a little sorry for the other girl now. ]

It must have been a bad dream..

[ She nods in agreement. ]

Yeah, I'm sure it's nothing though. Other than that, I'm okay! Especially since you're here with me!

... Hmm.. I'll be here with Shiki-chan no matter what. I don't want Shiki-chan to be alone or feel lonely, so.. I'll be right here the entire time.
