Summary: The Fire Lord, the Avatar, and a Master Waterbender all sat down to dinner.
Rating: Should be fairly low key

Life goes on. And as Sokka and Suki go off to celebrate their very real love and their very real anniversary, someone still has to make dinner. And tonight, as with many other nights, that someone is Katara. There is a vegetarian dish for Aang, a large dish of rice and mango, and some spicy shish-kabobs for Zuko (and some less spicy ones for Katara). Despite the awkwardness, this is life, and they have to keep living it.

But that's when I have to go see you practice! And that early in the morning is just - evil.

[Pause] You know, you could ask me to practice in the afternoon one day if you wanted to watch.

Yeah. Maybe on Saturday!

[He says, with sauce dribbling down his chin.]

[Well, Aang hasn't changed. Zuko just... kinda stares at that sauce.] Yeah. That'll work.

Aang, you've got sauce on your chin. [And without pausing a beat.] Maybe. I'm still mostly free on Saturdays.

Oh. [He swipes at his chin with a napkin and smiles at Katara's affirmation.] Great! We'll find the right time on that day. ...And we have to get some planning for cultural day in too!

Definitely! [EXCITEMENT.] We have so much to plan.

Uh... we do?

Yes!

[This is Aang's chance to get in a word edgewise before she goes off.]

Yeah, Zuko! We need you to help with the Fire Nation part of the presentation! I already know some ancient dances, but we need you for the Dancing Dragon!

[burningdownfate]

... You need me for what now? [Because that sounds like he's implying that Zuko needs to do the dance in public.]

Ooh, that's a great idea, Aang! I've heard about the dance, but I've never gotten to see it!

It'll be great! You remember the Dancing Dragon, right? That was a fun dance!

Yeah, I remember it. You want to do it? For the cultural thing?

[savedtheworld]

Sure! Wouldn't that look great? Maybe it won't be as neat without the actual dragons, bit it could still be a cool performance!

[He shovels some broccoli into his mouth.]

You seriously want me to perform at the cultural thing? [Enthusiasm is just dripping from that dry tone.]

Yeah, Zuko! Don't you want everyone to see a cool part of Firebending culture? There aren't even many people from our world who know about it!

I know I'd love to see it.

[savedtheworld]

See, Zuko? Everyone loved it when we did it at the Western Air Temple, and they'll love it at the fair!

[burningdownfate]

That doesn't mean I want to do it. [It's muttered and he shovels more food in his mouth. He'll do it.]

[Aang understands, and he nods gleefully.]

That's close enough to a yes for me. I have to practice my Earthbending more too... since I'm the only one here.
