Who: Brave Vesperia members and any friends they would have invited (although, just about anyone could sneak into this and probably not be noticed)
What: Beach party!
When: Afternoon of August 23rd.
Where: A remote space station The beach |:
Summary: BV takes a small vacation from work and has a beach party to relax and take advantage of the current heatwave.
Rating: Gonna slap a PG-13 on here and hope it doesn't go beyond that.

So, after another long day of building, Sokka had approached Yuri and gave him this beach party idea. Yuri was at that point so worn out he just lazily agreed to it and wandered on home. Thankfully for the rest of the guild, instead of later deciding it was stupid and retracting his yes, he sent out the message that they were going to the beach to take a break from everything, and to bring food and friends with them if they felt like it.

Better yet, this particular day happens to be during a heatwave. Even more reason to take a break from building!

No, I suppose not. I just wasn't sure what sort of gathering this was. I...only just joined Brave Vesperia.

No, the message was vague and said that it was a meeting.

[Rei's body language isn't exactly unfriendly, and her tone is neutral. She's not annoyed, just not really in her element.]

My name is Rei Hino. I don't believe we've met.

[ Figures. Lightning gives a sigh, wondering who it was that happened to be responsible for the misconception-- although she quickly comes to the conclusion that it probably wasn't Zack. She can't imagine him skimping on the details of how this whole thing is supposed to be for fun, after his whole show of trying to convince her to join in. ]

[ Not objecting to the meeting part, though the other girl does sort of strike her as vaguely familiar. ]

[What a name. Still, she looked tough, and that wasn't a bad thing in Rei's book]

Its a pleasure to meet you, Lightning-san.

[She smiles at the older woman.]

To tell the truth, its my first time doing anything with the guild. I'm not sure I deserve to be part of a party.

[ Lightning huffs again- half scoff, half laugh, shaking her head slightly. ]

I don't think there's any 'deserving' involved.

[Rei nods to herself. Alright, so she overdressed]

Well, I suppose I just feel out of place, having met nobody here yet. But, I do hope I can help the guild.

[ Funnily enough, she still has that odd little ironic smile on. ]

I think they're willing to take what they can get.

[ Oh, yeah, so. This one isn't. Actually a member. But, she doesn't see any reason why the girl wouldn't be able to help, so the point's made anyway. ]

[Rei just nods silently]

Well, Lightning-san. Have you been in Luceti very long?

[She...feels sort of awkward, not knowing what else to say...]

[ -- Oh. They're... still having a conversation, then. To boot, that topic's a pretty quick way to flush the residual amusement out of Lightning's demeanor, giving way to perhaps just a touch of defensiveness on top of her usual sobriety. When it comes to personal information, she's definitely a little more guarded. ]

Two years in November.

[Rei notes this, and regrets it. She was just curious, and, lets be honest? Fish out of water here, so she's sort of flailing. And Lightning's pretty intimidating. She's equally reserved, just about different things]

Ah.

I'm sorry.

[She says it quietly, and backs away a few steps.]

[ Well... whoops. Good job, soldier girl. Too late to back-pedal for someone like her, however, Lightning just frowns at herself slightly as her eyes drop a bit. ]

... Don't worry about it.

[ She's not going to contest the teenager trying to leave, though. She's pretty used to that particular reaction. ]
