Insert title related to beaches, parties, or even beach parties

Who: Brave Vesperia members and any friends they would have invited (although, just about anyone could sneak into this and probably not be noticed)
What: Beach party!
When: Afternoon of August 23rd.
Where: A remote space station The beach |:
Summary: BV takes a small vacation from work and has a beach party to relax and take advantage of the current heatwave.
Rating: Gonna slap a PG-13 on here and hope it doesn't go beyond that.

So, after another long day of building, Sokka had approached Yuri and gave him this beach party idea. Yuri was at that point so worn out he just lazily agreed to it and wandered on home. Thankfully for the rest of the guild, instead of later deciding it was stupid and retracting his yes, he sent out the message that they were going to the beach to take a break from everything, and to bring food and friends with them if they felt like it.

Better yet, this particular day happens to be during a heatwave. Even more reason to take a break from building!

That sounds terrible. They'd actually punish people for trying to help others? That doesn't make any sense at all... if no one is allowed to do a job for free, that means no one is allowed to help someone just because they want to, right? What if the person can't afford to pay for help?

You're over-thinking it a little, Emil. What I meant with there being no free jobs only counts if the person hires the guild, and the size of the job they're asking for. If they dropped something and can't reach it, that's one thing - any guild member from any guild passing through could do that much without expecting to get paid for it, I'm sure. But if they left a family heirloom on a monster-infested mountaintop half way across the world, that's not something you do for free.

I mean, sure, it's good to help people - especially when they can't afford it otherwise - but the guild's members need to survive too. If they take jobs from anyone, whether they can pay or not, they could end up in some serious money troubles themselves.

Oh... I guess that makes more sense. But I still don't think it would hurt to take jobs for free every once in a while if they have to, just as long as they aren't doing it all the time.

... that's probably why I'm not the one running a guild here.

Heh, no kidding. [quick pause, then--] I wouldn't mind allowing things like that myself, but it seems like rumors spread fast and get a little twisted around when it comes to guilds. I guess it could be all right if it really stayed as "once in a while", though.

Definitely not, but it happens real fast with guilds. We even got stuck being known for something we just happened to do on a whim back home--

[... There's a pause where he realizes that that's exactly how Brave Vesperia ended up being "the build guild". And he promptly sighs. At least it's "that group that builds things" this time, and not "that group of warehouse organizers". Still.]

... I guess this guild is just doomed to be known for things we weren't planning on making a career out of. Man, I really hope that training school thing pays off ...

But you're still helping people, so aren't you still doing what the guild was originally for? Even if it isn't helping people in the way you thought you'd be. I mean, I didn't ever think I'd be helping cook for people, but it turns out I'm pretty good at it.

Yeah, it's that weird. [shruggin'!] But that's fine. Once I get the guild involved in other things, you'll get the chance to stop liking weird stuff. Just hang on for a little longer.

[Well, he does jump slightly, but unfortunately, that's mostly because he had his eyes closed and didn't know what that was. But it probably did look suspect.

But yeah. After jumping slightly, eyes are open and he's giving Emil a raised eyebrow.]
