Summary: On day three of The Sleeping Navigator, the thorns finally arrive. Hope the house occupants didn't want to leave any time soon...
Rating: PG for swearing and violence against plant life?



[So thorns aren't really meant to grow that fast, right? It takes all of fifteen seconds for them to surge from the grass surrounds and wrap the house with a thick and impenetrable wall of spiky death.

...well, spiky inconvenience, anyway. Watch out, because they might make a few attempts to sneak into the house, too, and that could really mess with the paintwork. Violence against thorns is encouraged, but be careful: try cutting the main wall down and they'll spring back twice as thick a moment later, and those thorns are painful.

Meanwhile, Nami's dreaming of the best mikan cocktail ever made served up on top of her own personal mountain of gold. What's that? Wake up, now? Please.]

[Yup. Ling didn't see that coming. He's on the ground. She may have bloodied his nose too! But it'll heal.

But he's not sure he wants to get up.]

[... and now Nami's awake and they're both on the ground. There is only one possible action to take in this situation.

BRB, checking to make sure that Nami is all right.]

[explaining]

[Richard looks like he's got Nami, so Guy heads over to Ling to give him a worried nudge.] You okay down there?

[Katara hadn't quite managed to made herself look away when Ling kissed Nami. She'd wanted to, but - she needed to see if it worked.

And boy, had it.

The Richard and Guy had rushed to their relative patients, but Katara was more concerned with the strain Nami's fall hat put on her IV. She moved quickly to take care of that, speaking as she did so.]

Nami? Talk to me. How do you feel?

[Richard will be tapping into some of Nala's healing magic just in case, but as to whether it will actually do anything or not, he doesn't know. Still, it can't hurt to try.]

Apologies for that, but Ling was the only prince in the room.

[Kinda like someone dunked her head in a bucket of treacle, actually. Nami mutters something half unintelligibly that probably translates to some jerk tried to KISS me before it sort of sinks in that (a) that's Richard giving her a hand and (b) that was Katara asking questions, and that's sort of new. She totally fails to notice Guy, and Ling is a case of out-of-sight, out-of-mind. Sorry, Ling. SHE'LL THANK YOU LATER.

Maybe.

Give her a minute, she's been gone for a while--

--oh. There.]

...home?

[That is totally an answer.]

[explaining]

Yup. [Guy is a little distracted by vines doing- well, nothing really. And that's what's different. Ling doesn't seem to be dead or dying, so Guy just keeps a hand on his shoulder to help him up if he needs it.

He turns back to Nami though, and something in him lifts at seeing her. He's missed you.]

Good morning, Nami.

Morning... [The glance she throws in Guy's direction is dazed, and Nami blinks a few times as his presence actually sinks in. Okay, just why there are so many people here she isn't sure of, but she's never going to say no to a Guy in her living room. Even if he doesn't remember her. She smiles at him sleepily.]

...Guy. You're back! That didn't take long.

[deathsdoctor]

[Things are in hand. Yup, time to tell the rest of the household Miss Nami's awake. Law will exit stage left briefly to do so, Nala's glow covering his wounds.

No need to bleed over the carpet any more than he has to.]

[avaricious]

[Guy may be the only one to notice a small crackle of red energy before Ling gets up. That's just his face being fixed up. He sits back up, wiping some blood from his nose as he stands.]]

Well that was rude.

[Meanwhile, Katara has been dealing with the torn IV. Awake or not, Nami was probably still going to need the extra fluids until she could start working against muscle atrophy and stay awake long enough to eat or drink on her own, and until that could be determined - the IV was staying in.

This might pinch a little, Nami. But don't worry, she's good at it.]

Nami, keep talking. How do you feel? Who else do you see here?

Tired. [She drags her eyes away from Guy to follow Law out of the room-- what's Law doing in the house-- then dips briefly down to the IV, makes a small face at that pinching sensation, and finally stares narrowly at Ling. Oh, it's you. She'd swear you were here a few...seconds ago wait that wasn't a dream was it--]

You, Richard, Guy, and some incredibly forward guy with a ponytail. [Yawn.] And Law. Well, he--

[And then she trails off because she's staring at the few thorns that did end up pushing themselves inside and that's weird. O...kay.]

Did I...miss something? [Not the being sick thing, that's kind of obvious with the IV and the couch and the doctor types and friends everywhere, but...thorns, man. What.]

More like several somethings, but I think the full story can wait until you're feeling better.

[Still healing over here; is that helping at all, Nami? He'll keep going until he gets a signal to stop.]

[explaining]

[Ling looks like he's taking care of himself, so Guy backs off. He's noticing how different Nami looks. A little older, a little more satisfied with herself; there's always been confidence to Nami but now it seems even more profound.

He stands with a smile. Doesn't look like she remembers him though; she must have been sent back home, arrived and then met the him that was here before. They're practically strangers now.]

Nothing we can't handle. Don't you worry about it, Nami.

[avaricious]

You were unconscious and I had to bring you back to life with a kiss.

[Seriously, that's really the entire story, isn't it? Ling doesn't see the need to wait for something he can say in one breath.]

[Well. That was blunt.]

It was your mallynap effect. They put you in a fairy tale. Can you stand up?

[She gives a signal to Richard to stop for now. They need to see what Nami's capable of doing on her own.]

A fairy tale, huh... [...yep. Made total sense. She stops scowling so much at Ling, though. Katara wouldn't have let him kiss her if ther ewasn't a good cause. Uh. Maybe it'll make more sense once she wakes up properly.

...still finding the time here to wonder what Guy remembers, haha. She's hopeless. Nami smiles faintly.] Yeah, I can stand up. I'm fine. [Slowly dawning here that Richard was helping. Sorry, she's a little slow on the uptake. Though the magic isn't doing much more than help make her a little less stiff; she gives him a sleepy grin, before yawning again.]

Here, hold on...

[...actually, she doesn't get as far as standing before her eyes sag shut and she falls against Richard. Sorry, too tired. Zzzz.]

[Fortunately Richard has reflexes that are fast enough to allow him to catch her before she continues her descent down to the floor... except that she seems to be fast asleep again.

Um.

Does that mean the initial kiss didn't work? Does that mean he's going to have to...

... oh boy. Well. It doesn't REQUIRE tongue, does it? Hopefully not, because he's going to take a deep breath and then go in for the goal sans tongue with just a perfectly chaste kiss, albeit one on the lips.

Congratulations, Nami, you are the first and only girl Richard has ever kissed, and if he has his way, you'll also be the last.]
