Getting away for a while...
Who: Saleh (
mountain_sage) and Julia Laforeze (
smackmywitchup)
What: A trip into the mountains.
When: August 19th (waaaay backdated)
Where: From the plaza to the mountains.
Summary: After the chaos of the experiment and the run-in with Apep-possessed Isaac, Saleh and Julia decide to get away for a while.
Rating: G? Shouldn't be higher than PG, at least.
Saleh needed a break. It was one of those times where he truly needed one. Normally, as hard-working as he was, he never thought about vacation at all. He hadn't even thought of going into the mountains, which have been his home throughout his life. But now he needed a taste of home once more.
Another rare thing was that he needed company, so he had invited Julia to join him. He couldn't even begin to imagine how she felt to be attacked by her own brother, but he figured she could use the break as much as (if not more than) he did.
So he had decided to wait for her in the plaza, because it was the easiest place to find.

Approaching him, she gave a small, polite bow. "Good morning, Saleh. I hope I did not keep you waiting." she stated, before tilting her head ever so slightly in thought. "Are you ready to go now, or did you need to get anything else before we leave?"

He turned to glance out in the direction of the mountains. He was so ready to get up there, to feel the cool breeze, and to gaze in its breathtaking view. And then he returned his attention to Julia.
"I could not be more ready. Let us proceed."
no subject
"Very well. I can teleport us to our desired location; please follow me."
With that said, she stepped onto the soft pink light, the whisps of energy flying about here and there with the slight breeze.
no subject
"So you can teleport as well? It is a useful ability. Very well..."
Slowly, carefully, he steps into the pink portal.

When he stepped onto the portal, the calming pink light engulfed the duo for a split second. When it finally faded, they were no longer in their designated meeting area, but up in the mountains.
"There we are," she stated, glancing around. "Now, where to set up camp, hm?"
no subject
"Hmm. There are some caves a little farther up the mountain. Would you feel like hiking for a short while?"
no subject
"That sounds lovely."
no subject
"There, the cave is just up ahead. But watch your step; the footing can be quite treacherous in this area."
Carefully, he began to step up, propping his staff in the ground for support.
no subject
"Thank you for the warning... but I will be fine, I promise you. I have braved far worse at home," she replied, amused as she began to step up as well. At home, she, too, had a staff, but here... well. She hadn't found it yet.
Either or, she seemed to be fairing well, just as promised, although she was ready to teleport just in case anything unforeseen DID happen.

Just a little farther to go. As Saleh climbed, he purposely scraped away a few of the loose rocks with his feet before they could pose a hazard. Once he reached the stable ground, he gestured to the cave.
"This looks like as good a place as any to set up camp, would you agree?"
no subject
Making her way up and over to the cave, she peered in, eyes narrowing slightly at a few bats hanging up just a bit further on. "Hm..."
no subject
Saleh follows her glance, spotting the bats in the cave.
"Do those bats bother you? We need not actually enter the cave; I was thinking of just camping at the entrance. If you'd like, we can find another cave..."
no subject
Even so, she keeps her stare on the bats for a few moments longer, before she finally turns to look at Saleh again, smiling as though that little moment hadn't happened to begin with.
"Yes, camping at the entrance would be a good idea. T'would not be good to scare the bats, after all. They are such flighty creatures."

The talk of having endured worse than Luceti's ordeals at home made him morbidly curious.
Now it was time to settle down, so Saleh set down his sack and began to unload it, setting several fire logs in a neat pile.
