Getting away for a while...

Who: Saleh ([personal profile] mountain_sage) and Julia Laforeze ([personal profile] smackmywitchup)
What: A trip into the mountains.
When: August 19th (waaaay backdated)
Where: From the plaza to the mountains.
Summary: After the chaos of the experiment and the run-in with Apep-possessed Isaac, Saleh and Julia decide to get away for a while.
Rating: G? Shouldn't be higher than PG, at least.

Saleh needed a break. It was one of those times where he truly needed one. Normally, as hard-working as he was, he never thought about vacation at all. He hadn't even thought of going into the mountains, which have been his home throughout his life. But now he needed a taste of home once more.

Another rare thing was that he needed company, so he had invited Julia to join him. He couldn't even begin to imagine how she felt to be attacked by her own brother, but he figured she could use the break as much as (if not more than) he did.

So he had decided to wait for her in the plaza, because it was the easiest place to find.

Julia soon arrived, right on time as per usual; and she smiled and waved to Saleh. Yes, this would be nice; the mountains had been her home for years where she was from, after all. This would be exactly what she needed, too.

Approaching him, she gave a small, polite bow. "Good morning, Saleh. I hope I did not keep you waiting." she stated, before tilting her head ever so slightly in thought. "Are you ready to go now, or did you need to get anything else before we leave?"

Julia simply smiled at him as well, nodding her head. There was no incantation spoken, nothing tapped against the ground when a glowing, light pink portal suddenly appeared in the ground. Years of practice with this natural ability had proven useful.

"Very well. I can teleport us to our desired location; please follow me."

With that said, she stepped onto the soft pink light, the whisps of energy flying about here and there with the slight breeze.

"Indeed it is," she quipped, beaming at him. Really, he had no idea how many times this ability had gotten her out of near death situations... or simply out of places where she knew she'd be more liable to be in trouble.

When he stepped onto the portal, the calming pink light engulfed the duo for a split second. When it finally faded, they were no longer in their designated meeting area, but up in the mountains.

"There we are," she stated, glancing around. "Now, where to set up camp, hm?"

Julia simply nodded to him, her smile never fading. She was pleased to be away from all the hustle and bustle of the town, really; after all, for many years she'd lived alone in the mountains at home, and as much as she enjoyed being social and meeting new people... sometimes, even she needed a break. Especially lately.

"That sounds lovely."

Julia merely walked alongside Saleh, pausing as she looked upwards at the rather treacherous looking slope. Instead of looking worried, she simply giggled, smiling again.

"Thank you for the warning... but I will be fine, I promise you. I have braved far worse at home," she replied, amused as she began to step up as well. At home, she, too, had a staff, but here... well. She hadn't found it yet.

Either or, she seemed to be fairing well, just as promised, although she was ready to teleport just in case anything unforeseen DID happen.

"Agreed," she replied cheerfully, smiling as she followed him up. It wasn't like her to disagree unless something looked completely and utterly dangerous, after all; and besides, she hadn't had any horrible visions. So really, she couldn't complain.

Making her way up and over to the cave, she peered in, eyes narrowing slightly at a few bats hanging up just a bit further on. "Hm..."

"No... bats simply hold a significant meaning in my world, 'tis all."

Even so, she keeps her stare on the bats for a few moments longer, before she finally turns to look at Saleh again, smiling as though that little moment hadn't happened to begin with.

"Yes, camping at the entrance would be a good idea. T'would not be good to scare the bats, after all. They are such flighty creatures."
