And aft on the quarterdeck our gallant captain stands...
Who: Crew of the Britannia (permanent, part-time, and temporary)
What: A four and a half day sail, complete with rain. (At least it's not a hurricane this time?)
When: September 15th-19th.
Where: Britannia
Summary: Horatio has wonderful timing about rain at sea, but even that won't stop this sail. Better to learn under less than ideal situations, prepares you for the real thing.
Rating: PG?
Welcome to Britannia, Luceti's own sixth-rate frigate. The captain will be helping you get settled... and seeing that you complete the duties assigned to you.
[September 15th]
It's a lovely day for weighing anchor. The capstan needs manning, as do the sails. It won't be too long, though, before the wind takes the ship out to sea.
[September 16th]
Well, so there's a little rain. The deck might be slip, and you'll want a firm hand on the rigging when you go aloft. Overall, though, it's not bad conditions. At least not for Navy men.
[September 17th]
Heavier rain today, and the captain will be more cautious about what needs to be done, selecting the more confident to see to the sails and minding that anyone who can't swim doesn't get too near the sides. No one is excused from duty on the whole, though.
[September 18th]
The rain continues, as do the captain's methods. He's mindful of who goes where, but he won't allow for anyone to be nothing. Considerations for those who would rather be below deck are made, but no one is allowed to be idle, unless it's the hours they're not assigned somewhere.
September 19th]
Of course, the day the cruise is at an end, the rain stops. Still, there's work to do be done for putting into port.
(Action or prose welcome, make your own heading post or reply to others! Misunderstands about the nature of the cruise re: the advertisements done by others welcome!)
