I dunno. My card didn't say anything about school.

[He shrugs. Then again, the card is just weird.]

[Eep. Sure, he's wearing all black, but it's not like he's hiding his face right now ... If he really is a merciless vigilante, he definitely shouldn't reveal himself, right? Especially if he's being as openly suspicious of others as he's being right now ...]

Believe what you want. Just like you can only stay awake at night, I have to stay in the shadows. If you've got a problem with that, then keep away from them.

[Spock finds comfort in Arsene's support and faces Glados once again.]

We were merely looking for information that might explain our current condition. [Spock briefly looks at his PADD which he accidentally left hooked up to the mainframe and hopes that Glados does not notice it before he can get to it.]
The bypass codes I used were simple in nature....the complexity was merely in the amount of layering that was involved.

I...uh....apologise for any.....inconvenience? [Spock moves them slightly to the right, away from the door and a little closer to the console.]

[He watches as Grune sits down near him with such familiarity, faintly confused why she's there but also a bit at ease to recognize someone; this was at least better than talking to strangers who also had amnesia.]

Walking around. Trying to find anything than seems familiar. [He frowns.] Nothing has really helped.

These things rarely go on longer than a week. Just be patient.

Luck is probably a better guess than anything. [He looks cross just thinking about how long this might go on.] ...How temporary is 'temporary'?

[Jason sighs. He doesn't want to be patient!]

Easier said than done. That's a really long time to wait.

Thanks. I appreciate it. [If for no other reason than to keep himself occupied. He didn't like spending so much time alone anyway.] I hope it's not too busy there now.

[Steve catches the gun easily. If there's one thing he's noticed about himself, it's the fact that he seems to have amazing reflexes. That's what made him think that maybe he visits the Dome a lot. He gives the note a glance over.]

Wow. You must really know your guns.

[Lupin stared in momentary disbelief as he ran through his mind to figure out his how he knew that information. It was automatic, the same way his fingers were able to coax a padlock into opening with little trouble. He shrugged, hands open in an open display of being clueless.

He had no answer, not at that point.]

It will probably last about a week. More, if luck fails once again.

[Steve raises a brow but doesn't comment. He knows he's not the only one in the village suffering from amnesia, so he just assumes that's what this is.]

So what do I do now? I know I need to aim for the target, but isn't there a...safety or something I need to take off?

[Lupin furrowed his brows at the man, silently asking if he really needed to explain that part as well.]

[Steve looks between the gun and Lupin and back again. Well if this man isn't going to be much help, he'll just figure it out himself. He studies the gun for a moment before his hands automatically move over the gun, take off the safety and raise in direction of one of the targets.

He takes a shot, and then another, and another. His shots all hit the area surrounding the middle.]

...I guess I'm pretty good at this.

[Lupin leaned up against the console and grinned at the display. Whoever this man was, he was skilled with a gun. Not skilled enough a voice in his mind noted, but he brushed that aside. Instead he clapped in appreciation, all the while curious about what else the man could do.]

Should I...go again?

[He glances to Lupin over his shoulder and then motions for the man to join him.]

Why don't you give it a try? Show me what you can do.

[His brows knit together in confusion at the mentioning of an experiment. That's the first he's heard of that.] I ... guess that depends on your idea of "all right." What experiment are you talking about?

[He pointed a finger at himself, as if questioning whether Steve was asking the right target, before a quick glance around told him that there was no other culprit. Lupin waved a hand in denial, but crossed the distance anyway. A note was pulled out and passed off to Steve, as if that explained everything. On the back was another hastily written note:]

I think they might be cat ears, but I'm definitely not a cat. [Okay, maybe not "definitely." But he was still holding out hope that he wasn't just some stupid boy's clone.]

...Maybe part cat? [Why else would you have cat ears, if you weren't part cat?]

[Steve accepts the note and looks it over, recognizing it to be a card similar to the one he found the first morning he woke up with amnesia. So his name is Lupin. He turns the note around.]

Yeah, I'm Steve. Steve Altman. It's nice to meet you. [He holds out a hand.]

I-- [He deflates a little, sighing reluctantly.] I guess so. They don't feel weird, but knowing I'm probably the only person here with them isn't ... comforting. [Shouldn't you be looking for things that are comforting when you had amnesia?]

Anyway... Who are you? Or, uh, what did your card say your name is?

[Lupin shook Steve's hand, sharing the sentiment, while he pulled out another note that he had written out earlier.]

it doesn't feel normal not to talk.]

[It was followed by an apologetic smile. He really had no answer for it.]
