High tech? [Those words aren't very familiar to her, for some reason.

Did ya try by hardware?

I was thinking more like electronics. [But considering the tools he found upstairs...] But I'd like to see those as well.

[touchofrogue]

There are no electronics in the shop - at least, I'm pretty sure. I mean, if electronics are things that run on electricity, the only thing you've really got going for you here is lightbulbs. And that's in the hardware section. [She pointed] over there.

[Hmm. Well, it might be worth a look anyway. He meanders over.]

You wouldn't happen to have an idea where you'd find something like that, would you? Electronics, I mean. In the village.

[touchofrogue]

["Rose" shook her head.]

No. Sorry. This just doesn't seem like that kinda place.

[And he's coming up short again. Still, he picks around the hardware section, seeing if anything triggers a memory.]

You don't sound like you know it very well. [Fellow amnesiac?]

[touchofrogue]

She shrugged, "Gawd knows, I'm told I know it better. But I couldn't have even told ya that this place wasn't our home until someone let me know a few days back."

[alloys]

He nodded, having heard similar things himself. "So I've heard. Kind of makes you wonder--why some of us got hit and some didn't."

It's driving him mad, honestly. Not being able to remember.

[touchofrogue]

She paused and glanced back at him, "Did they tell ya 'bout the experiments?"

[alloys]

Experiments? His brow knitted. "No, they definitely left that out. What about experiments?"

[touchofrogue]

"Well... from what I hear, they're kind of like this."

[alloys]

...That's not particularly reassuring. He drops the bulb he's holding.

"You mean the amnesia?"

[touchofrogue]

"The village-wide amnesia? Yeah." She nodded a little soberly. This was scary.

[alloys]

It had been apparent that something major must have happened to put so many people--but not everyone--into this state. It had been clawing at his mind and as bad as experiments sounded, it was one possible explanation.

And it seemed to ring with truth somehow.

"...Oh, well that's just fantastic. Makes the whole situation just that much better."
