One Dark (K)Night

[It certainly is a strange thing to feel tired while her subjects are active and wide-awake when her subjects are sleeping. Luna can only deduce that this must be a part of the "curse" placed upon her, despite how familiar and comfortable the nighttime sights and sounds feel.]

[However, there is something unusual about tonight. Something lurking about - perhaps? - and sending a cold shiver down her spine. She pauses, flaring her wings and looking left. Then right. Was it only her imagination?]

[At first, there is staring coming from the shadows.

Mostly because The Dark Knight has never seen anything like Luna before. Ever. At all. What should he even do in a situation like this? Should he be finding her suspicious?]

[trueknight]

[.......... Yeah sure why not. He hasn't really seen much of anyone out this late, and really, he was starting to get a little bored. Besides, he's supposed to be a merciless vigilante! Unicorns with wings that resemble the night sky totally falls into the suspicious-and-should-be-watched category! Or ... something.

... Okay, so he's really just bored and Luna's the most interesting being he's seen all night.

So hey Luna. There really is something lurking about (in the darkest shadows he can find, anyway), observing quite harshly. Heck, if you look closely at some of those shadows, you might see one of those hue-man guys giving you quite the cold look ...]

[The Dark Knight's tactic of sticking to the most shadowy of shadows certainly works for a time, but Luna still can't shake the feeling that there is some (possibly dangerous) creature trailing her. Not that she's afraid of one!]

[...Okay. Okay, so perhaps it's just the teeniest bit awkward and uncomfortable. There must be, after all, creatures that eat cursed royalty.]

[But because this is Luna, whose usual way of doing things is more direct than sneaky-sneaky, she will pause in the middle of a more open area. Glancing around again (did some creature just move in that pocket of darkness?), she will take a deep breath and raise her right hoof in the air.]

Who goes there? Thy princess commands that thou showest thyself immediately!

[There's no movement from the shadows, but there is a response.]

Sorry, but I don't listen to any so-called "princesses" that wander around this late at night on their own.

[A conversation with shadows, then? Sure, all right. Luna will undertake this thing, though not without a roll of her eyes.]

Then thou wouldst listen to us if we were accompanied by guards in the broad daylight, we suppose?!

Regrettably we find ourself unable to stay awake for a time when the sun is out, and we do not remember who or what our guards are in order to have them accompany us. Thou wouldst do best to show thyself in any case. We do not think highly of being followed!

[Some kind of nocturnal horse-thing, then? Still kind of suspicious ... and for some reason, her high-class sounding words make him a little mad. Not that he can remember why ... Maybe he doesn't like nobility for some reason?

... Eh. He'll puzzle on that later.]

You really expect me to believe something like that? [a quick pause, then--] Fine. Let's say you're telling the truth. Why is it so important that you see me? What do you expect you'll get out of that?

[Luna scowls. Well. Perhaps this shadow-creature has a point! After all, she is relying solely on what the card has said, simply because without it she doesn't remember anything. At all. Interestingly, she's fallen into the nobility role fairly easily. But without it, without something connecting her to these people, she'll have nopony. Er... noone. And the thought of being alone is unbearable.]

We make it our business to know all of our subjects! That is-- [she falters a little.] if we are truly the best princess, it is our duty to do so, and...

One has to admit that sneaking about in the shadows it highly suspicious activity. Perhaps thou art a villain! How will we know this if thou continues to hide thy form?

[Eep. Sure, he's wearing all black, but it's not like he's hiding his face right now ... If he really is a merciless vigilante, he definitely shouldn't reveal himself, right? Especially if he's being as openly suspicious of others as he's being right now ...]

Believe what you want. Just like you can only stay awake at night, I have to stay in the shadows. If you've got a problem with that, then keep away from them.
