You think these are ... neat? [Well, he had resisted the urge to cover his ears, but he wasn't so confident as to think highly of his ears.] But anyone with them would look out of place.

Well yeah! No one else has them, and they kinda look like cat ears! [And that's pretty neat to him.]

I think they might be cat ears, but I'm definitely not a cat. [Okay, maybe not "definitely." But he was still holding out hope that he wasn't just some stupid boy's clone.]

...Maybe part cat? [Why else would you have cat ears, if you weren't part cat?]

I-- [He deflates a little, sighing reluctantly.] I guess so. They don't feel weird, but knowing I'm probably the only person here with them isn't ... comforting. [Shouldn't you be looking for things that are comforting when you had amnesia?]

Anyway... Who are you? Or, uh, what did your card say your name is?

Why's that? Shouldn't you feel unique? [Or special? Because Rae here would like to have a pair of cat ears!]

It said my name's Raenef. What's yours?

My card kinda presented itself in a way that makes me feel a little too unique, if you can believe that. [Especially since unique was unique, and there shouldn't be measurements of uniqueness.]

My name's Leon. At least my name feels right.

Well at least yours didn't make you feel bad for tomatoes.. [He still feels off about that one..]

And yours is an easy one! It took me a while before I could say it and it sounded right.

I guess it depends on how it's spelled... Can you imagine if you couldn't read and you had amnesia?

Apparently I cry when people eat them. [He doesn't want to try it out to see if it's true..]

Then that would've been really bad...even worse if that happened to everyone. I wonder what would've happened then.

That sounds pretty unlikely, but what do I know? [Not much, with this stupid amnesia problem.]

We'd probably all be assigning each other names or something. Because we wouldn't know our own names.

You still remember things though, right? It's weird -- my idea of amnesia was that you forget everything. But I still remember what clouds are, that trees should be green, that the sky should be blue. Things like that are still intact.

Well yeah, and I remember words, and all the important things...maybe we just forgot who we are?

That's a really selective kind of amnesia. Especially for a whole village.

Maybe it's something really weird in the air?

Maybe... That'd definitely make all of this seem like some sort of conspiracy or social experiment. [He frowns.] I mean, where else would these "fact" cards come from?

Maybe some people are only saying they have amnesia, and they're the ones that gave us cards?

But why wouldn't they have amnesia? [He just confused himself.]

Maybe they were somehow immune. Or they protected themselves.

[...And he's just hurting his head now.]

I'm not sure if I want to jump head-first into conspiracy theories, though. Figuring out what to do day to day is bad enough.
