Halloween is once again descending on Luceti! There's a maze and some mists and some ghoulish visitors and all kinds of pranks. Oh, and the parties. Don't forget the parties. Or the candy. Man, those kids on the draft don't know what they're missing.

As a reminder:

Starting on the 28th (yesterday) and going until the 31st, strange thngs are happening in Luceti. This is for those who have stayed behind from the draft OR for those who have been safely evacuated from the draft after their requisite quarantine time.

Get lost in the maze! Get rid of the spiders and rats and bats! Eat candy! Try on costumes! Do stuff unrelated to these weird happenings!

Be pranked! Do pranks of your own (if you wanna take advantage of the great scapeghosts)! Go to their harvest festival party!

Most of all? Have a spooktacularly fun time.

[Not that she's actually impressed with what's going on here, but when she sees all the eerie decorations and crap? It's very evident to her that Halloween's just around the corner.

So, what's the first thing Shepard does when things finally start off?

Why, start offering pumpkins to everyone, of course, assuming that they grew just in time for the Halloween season! She'll be down at the farm helping any housemates that're there on the first day, and having some good old fashioned fun in the maze on the second. Not that she was childish or anything, but there wasn't much else she had to do at the moment when she couldn't go on the draft anyway.

For the rest of October, she can be seen during her usual Battledome routine and such, though much less than normal, since she needs to help with pumpkin distribution and all that. What a handy distraction this particular holiday is...]

[Do you want to do the corn maze? Come on, you know you do. The first day Luke takes this new kind of interactive puzzle by the horns and draws a map as he works his way through it.

The day after that, the 29th, he'll be there offering to be your guide through the maze. The maize maze that changes every night. Yeah.

On the last two days he'll happily go through it again once he realizes it's different. Might as well. He'll make new maps too! And probably share his prizes if they're silly. Or, you know - get totally lost in the corn with whoever he's in there with. On the 30th he'll also check the stables to make sure none of the horses are getting too spooked. Har har.

And on any day, in the evenings especially, the ghosts are all over pranking him: boos popping up behind him only to giggle and vanish, or jovial spectres giving him riddles impossible to solve.]

[Well, since the last time they met didn't exactly work out so well, let's make sure they can properly CR this time, shall we?

Souji tilts his head at the younger kid--he's not sure if having a guide for this maze is the best of ideas...] A guide?

Yep! [He stands taller, straightening his shoulders. It doesn't do much other than make him look silly.] I made a pretty great map of this maze yesterday, so if you get lost walking through, I'll be able to help.

I don't see why not...having someone who's gone through the maze already would be great.

[There's a little smile there--both at how he's puffing himself out the way he is, and at how he'd done this on his own. He must have a natural knack for this stuff...]

Great! If you don't mind waiting a minute, I think it's more fun with a group. But, um, if you don't like groups then...

Were you planning to bring anyone else with you? [That earns a tilted head.]

Oh no, I don't have any plans. I just thought someone else might come along and also want a guide.

We could probably just go on ahead, then.

[His friends are probably enjoying the rest of the festivities when they're not being scared by the ghosts over menial things...] I'm not really waiting on anyone myself.

[That fog looks awfully familiar.]

Oh no.

[Although he doesn't want to, Tsuzuki puts on his trenchcoat and goes to investigate the maze in the fog.]

[That maze's irresistible, even though he knows it's got to be filled with traps. He walks into it, steeling himself for danger... So when he sees Shepard he nearly has a heart attack. Tsuzuki takes a deep breath.]

Hey!

[Eley's also wandering around, looking rather bemused at the sudden fog rolling in. And... a maze? Was this here before? Hmm... his curiosity getting the better of him, Eley will just wander inside.

...and as he wanders he might end up walking into Tsuzuki, the fog obscuring his vision and his own curiosity leading him to pay little attention to what's ahead.]

[Crow doesn't really know much about Halloween, but it's not really his concern to know what holiday it is. What matters is that it definitely looks like something interesting is going on, like the appearance of that corn maze or the ghosts, so...

A. During the first day or so, if you happen to be venturing into the corn maze, you might get the feeling that you're being watched. But then, perhaps just as you're sure that you're just imagining it, a hand will suddenly reach out behind you to try to tap or grab your shoulder! WHAT WILL YOU DO?

B. And during the latter days, Crow is...noticeably hatless. He's currently looking around behind buildings, inside trash cans, and even jumping up and looking around on roofs of buildings for his missing hat. At first he had been kind of cool with the ghosts, but now it looks like one of them took his hat and he's stuck trying to look for it. Feel like helping him out?]

28th

[ The fog isn't something that's actually new to Helios. It was eerie how it just rolled into the town and lingered there like a sheet though. However Helios is still going to be around town today and the next several days. He'll make his rounds to the library and of course the school. With so many teachers and students being absent due to the draft though, he might let everyone out early, just because this fog might cause a bit more of a scare than he would like. Though Helios is going to try his hand at a little magic, after school is out. You can see him conjuring and making fog like apparitions, mostly of classic Halloween lore, which get some claps and cheers from the enclosures ghostly visitors. ]

29th

[ Still doing his usual thing. Although today Helios might be seen in the item shop picking up the various Halloween decor and the like that's available at the shop. It seems that the ghosts around town have replaced the horrible images of people from their pasts. It's a lot more light heart than he expected of the Malnosso but he'll take it. Helios will also be carving pumpkins later in the afternoon by a makeshift stand near the fountain. If anyone wants to join in, feel free to do so!

Also he might be dragging a group of people out to the Corn Maze later in the evening. It's better at sundown because that makes it extra spooky, okay? ]

[Tsuzuki tenses at first, wondering if Eley is a trick of the fog. It passes quickly as he realizes that the god has no plans to attack him.]

Eley? What are you doing here?

[The maze had seemed like a good enough way to lose an hour, but Ivan hadn't expected to actually get lost in it. He'd be feeling chagrined by now, if he he weren't starting to get a little worried.

Fine, he'd just have to do this the stubborn way. Ivan moved over to one of the walls, put his hand out to lightly brush the bundled corn, and started to walk that way instead. It would lead him out eventually, he was pretty sure.]

[The idea of Halloween is very new to Belle. She's not quite sure how to feel about holiday that celebrates scaring people, but she finds the additions of dressing up and receiving candy quite delightful.

What she doesn't enjoy is the increasing amount of spiders and rats she finds lurking in House 17. Or the ghosts who find it amusing to glue her hair brush to her nightstand and rearrange the furniture.

But when she's not cleaning after the ghost's pranks, she's browsing the shops for costume ideas or visiting the maze

Feel free to catch her doing either things or wandering around in the fog.]

[Eley's a little on edge himself, wondering if he'd just bumped into an enemy, but sure enough it turned out to be a friend instead. Why did this keep happening...?]

Ah, I am sorry. [He pauses at his question.] As for what I am doing here... I am not quite sure myself. This place seemed unusual so I thought I would investigate. Have you been here for long?

[Lured by the promise of surprises, this puffball will be waiting outside the entrance to the corn maze, trying to get someone to carry him through the maze. He'd scoot, but it'd take so much longer...]

Hey! Puu! If you're going through the corn maze, can you carry me? I can help you guess where to go!

[Shiemi had something taken from her, and has now ended up in the corn maze looking for it and the ghost who took it. She's pretty skittish by the time she gets in, and jumps a little when a leaf from a cornstalk brushes against her. Honestly she's quite ripe for any spook, and when Crow does go in for the scare she'll scream pretty loud. She almost faints, but the girl keeps consciousness and lands on the corn wall instead of the ground.]

[Unfortunately Crow's kiiind of a jerk, so when she screams and has to use the cornwall for support, he starts laughing a bit obnoxiously in response.]

Hahaha, wow, that was quite a loud scream there! I wouldn't be surprised if it scared all the birds away! [Ahahaha...]

[She's pressed up against the cornstalks, breathing heavily, and staring at the guy before her.]

I- I... wh... you're not a ghost?

Huh? [Oh--right, he was supposed to run off and hide so that he could potentially scare her again when she least expected it. Well, so much for that.]

As if. Do I look like a ghost to you?

[Haruhi got back on the evening of the 27th from her mission, and thus has been here the whole time, other than when the spiders and mice started to come. Housemates are free to react - or members of the Brigade/friends because she sent out an (assumed) memo she was back on the journals. But she is actually really amused with these ghosts! Giving them candy sometimes, not giving them other times. Being pranked. Going to their party. Going to that thing Rei set up.

Really, see her everywhere around town. Being amused is much better than dwelling on the draft which apparently started while she was going]

N-no? I'm sorry.

[Still shaking, Shiemi stands on her own feet now. The girl is a bit wobbly, but she's sturdy. She holds her hands close to her chest because her heart still feels like it'll beat right out of it.]
