On the 29th, the Malnosso announce over the radios that the power cap will be lifted to a full 100%. Carol broadcasts a message.

On the 30th, the Malnosso declare Vaskoth completely lost. Those with radio access will discover that the enclosure is to be bombed.

On the 31st, survivors will have one last chance to evacuate or try to find the cure. 3PM is do or die.

[29th: Mulder's still running around half-injured, but he's been getting by and he's still going well into the night of the 28th/29th. It's during one of these battles that he gets into contact with infected blood sometime shortly after midnight. He doesn't realize what happened until he wakes in a cold sweat during one of his rare rest breaks. The illness means one thing of course. Damn it.]

[He considers his options. It's not exactly pleasant to think that putting a bullet in his own head while he can still think clearly is one of them, but, well, it's something he does have to seriously consider.]

[The other option is heading to where the cure's being made and see if he can do anything for them. Get himself contained at least, however it turns out. Minimize the inevitable damage he'll be trying to cause. That would be at least more helpful to the others even though it still might not end well for him. But it's worth a try. So he heads to the hospital, only hoping he can keep his right mind enough to make it. He gets there sometime in the late night/early morning hours.]

[Unfortunately, he'll have turned to a zombie by the time that proto-cure is administered... and he'll get the unpleasant experience of being a human, trapped in a zombie's body. As his mind returns, the aggressive hunger instincts begin to lessen.]

[But he does get to take advantage of being a thinking-zombie for a while before the power cap is lifted. He insists on getting out there again, using his zombie-strength to his advantage. So he eventually gets cleared to go out there and fight.]

[30th: The power cap is in place, but he'll keep doing what he can. There's at least still some advantage to appearing outwardly like a zombie, even if he's no longer got the extra strength or speed.]

[31st: He keeps going, holding out for as long as he can until that full cure can be found and administered... and then he can get back home.]

[Rydia's attempts to keep herself contained have failed. In her current runner state, she managed to escape her confinement and is now roaming the area, restless...and hungry. As soon as she spots Mulder, he'll have to deal with a large green blur running toward him and ready to bite as soon as she's within range.]

[Of course, he's been keeping alert for zombies, but he's exhausted at this point, and getting closer to needing to stop for the night. Mulder turns to start toward safety, and-]

[-INCOMING!]

[Cursing under his breath, Mulder fires a couple shots toward her. And that's when he realizes who he's seeing.]

...Rydia!!?

[God damn it, no! The thing he's been dreading is encountering someone he knows being turned.]

[One of the shots grazes her arm, but that doesn't stop her from continuing her relentless pursuit. She glares at him, no recognition in those eyes as she closes in for a bite....]

RYDIA! Damn it...!

[But he knows she's beyond recognizing him now. His next shot is fired way off target, as she lunges at him, teeth gnawing at his skin. He convinces himself that she didn't really get him that bad- no, of course not! And fires another shot at her again, while he tries backing away, considering his options.]

[There's only two ways he can deal with her now... one of them is a lot less appealing, even with her as a zombie hungry for his flesh. Ok, but containing her won't be a picnic either. He's going to have to do a hell of a lot of running...]

[The shot strikes its target, hitting her shoulder, but as it doesn't impede her mobility, she ignores the wound. The only thing that matters is feeding, and she's not about to let her meal get away. Running will only ensure that she follows him, of course, and she'll readily do so. There's nothing on her mind but catching up and ensuring that he moves no more.]

[Mulder's trying to prepare himself for the worst, but he's also not about to give up until it gets that desperate. So he takes off at a run, glancing back over his shoulder every so often to make sure she follows. He's got to lead her somewhere where he can contain her...]

[Oh, she's following. And while she's not the fastest zombie ever, her speed is enhanced from what it is usually. Mulder definitely won't be allowed to slack off, if he wants to keep just ahead of her.]

[Keep going, keep going... All of the running he does in his spare time is really paying off. But he's only human, and has the endurance of one. So he's going to have to do something soon. He's fast approaching a building, and it looks to be abandoned... Perfect. He can trap her in there somewhere. Although it's a risk if it's overrun by zombies.]

[He heads toward it anyway, moving for the entrance... of course, the door doesn't open right away. He kicks it in desperation and pulls, getting it at the last moment. Inside he goes.]

[Rydia follows, of course, mindless and oblivious to Mulder's plan. Fortunately for him, no other zombies seem present. That's probably just as well, since Rydia's hot on his heels and reaching out for him again.]

[He's mostly glad that the place is devoid of people. He doesn't want to be putting anyone else in danger... it matters less what happens to himself.]

[Mulder hurries along, steps echoing in the empty hallway. He keeps an eye out, trying doors as he passes by. Locked, locked, locked... and no time to really hang out trying to break any down. He gets to the end of the hall, pulling open the door and... Ha! Good, a room that he can work with. Some boxes and crates are piled throughout, and there's a closet toward the back. He goes to that closet, yanking the door open and stepping inside...]

[Naturally, Rydia pursues him down the hall, and enters that room not long after. When he reaches that closet, she's close to catching up again and charges.]

[Mulder tries to push her down, aiming more toward legs to really mess with her balance. He'll probably get some zombie-blood or a bite for his efforts, but he knows it's already too late anyway. He's just trying to do everything he can to contain her.]

[After the shove, he scrambles to get past and attempt to close the door on her.]

[Rydia does indeed try to bite, attempting to sink in her teeth whenever she gets the chance. But ultimately, Mulder's plan proves effective. When the door closes, she's effectively contained (again).]

[Phew. The worst is dealt with, but he's got to make sure she doesn't escape, considering how strong these zombies can be in the early stages. He finds a crate that's large enough to block the door but weighs little enough to be able to push. He shoves it along toward that door. THERE.]

[He sinks to the ground beside it after that, needing to take a moment to catch his breath, to consider his options. They're looking pretty dim right now. But he's going to have to do something about it- he doesn't have long-]

[He'll keep Rydia's location in mind, so in the chance she doesn't escape later, he can head back to find her for that cure.]
