On the 29th, the Malnosso announce over the radios that the power cap will be lifted to a full 100%. Carol broadcasts a message.

On the 30th, the Malnosso declare Vaskoth completely lost. Those with radio access will discover that the enclosure is to be bombed.

On the 31st, survivors will have one last chance to evacuate or try to find the cure. 3PM is do or die.

[Well. Dread won. Rogue dragged herself through her hair in an effort to wake herself further.]

Where are ya?

[Billy scrambles for a moment to sort out the address ~~that isn't actually decided yet oops~~ before returning to the journal and jotting it down on the page so she has a record of it.]

Sorry... we really screwed up this time. If it's too dangerous, forget about it, okay? We'll... figure something out.

['Dumb' was perhaps an indication of how tired Rogue was. On other circumstances, that probably would have been a good deal more vitriolic.]

Like hell we're leavin' you out there. Play it smart, make sure ya barricade everythin'. Get some wood or anythin' flammable ready - you can keep 'em back with fire. Turn it into weapons if ya can. Keep your head. I'll call you when we're close.

[Billy is quiet for a long moment, hesitant to respond. "Keep your head", she says. When he's already feeling half-starved and Teddy's looking tastier by the hour.

He's not even sure how long he'll be sane.]

I... we'll try. Do you think- I mean- is Loki... busy? Would he be willing to come with you?

[Record. Scratch.]

What?

[No. No, no, no. How would Billy know?]

[Oh. Geez. Uh.

Yeah, that probably sounded weird. Asking her to bring along a known villain. He's not even sure how to get into this without revealing the whole... magic lessons... thing. Though the fact that he's worrying about that now with the imminent threat of death and zombification looming... his mind always goes to strange places when he's stressed.]

S... sorry. It's just- I made him promise something. He'd understand that, if you told him.

[...oh, now that doesn't sound good in a very different way.]

Billy. [She took a deep breath and then said quietly.] I know you're not thinkin' of sendin' me into somethin' without givin' me all the information.

N-no, of course not! That's not what I--!

[Dammit. He's not really thinking straight - it's getting harder to do, now - but he'd only been hoping to avoid having to tell her about the promise. But the situation- what's happened- dammit, he should've been more clear-]

It's just... w...we've only got a few hours left. [Another pause, as he tries to speak and his voice falters - panic sets in, the reality of what's happening catching up to him - and he has to give it another go.] Teddy, he's... I got bitten. He's gonna have to tie me up.

[Or kill me. But he's hoping not. ]

[Oh.

[Rogue leaned forward to the book, so that her face filled the screen.]

All right, Billy, Billy listen. Loki's workin' with the medics on a cure. They found the guy who survived it the first time - you've got a shot. Don't worry too much about Teddy, without the powercap, he can even take you if the virus gets you. If he has ta tie ya up, if ya feel yourself startin' ta go feral, get him ta knock you out. A firm blow on the back of the head. Got it?

[He's heard about this ongoing search for a cure, and while he doesn't put much stock in it - too many horror movies, too much time, too often thoughts of "I want to eat that" clouding his mind - but he doesn't feel like arguing about it. Whether a cure is or isn't fabricated is completely out of his hands.]

Yeah, we've... talked. He knows what to do.

[But it hasn't stopped him from wanting to turn tail and get the hell away before he goes crazy and tries to hurt someone.]

It's... gonna be fine.

[He doesn't sound convinced- simply repeating what he and Teddy have been telling each other for the last few days.]

Then you just hang on.

[Rogue's voice was grim.]
