On the 29th, the Malnosso announce over the radios that the power cap will be lifted to a full 100%. Carol broadcasts a message.

On the 30th, the Malnosso declare Vaskoth completely lost. Those with radio access will discover that the enclosure is to be bombed.

On the 31st, survivors will have one last chance to evacuate or try to find the cure. 3PM is do or die.

Mmm, seriously. [BAM, skull crack] You see, Riku-san, if I had to say if I "like," or "dislike," you, I in fact hate you. [Some struggling here, but he eventually kicks that shambler in the legs, snapping it, and then elbows it in the head] But that's because, if I had my way, I would never forgive you. Frankly, it's hard for me to [BAM] forgive!

Well, at least you're honest about it.

[Heh. Aaaand off goes another shambler's head. Riku turns away as its body hits the floor.]

You gonna at least tell me what I did to get under your skin?

That's obvious. You broke Xion-chan's heart.

[He says this with a grim smile as he uses a knife to disembowel this next fellow]

That's it?

[...It figures. Riku sighs, jabbing another zombie in the chest.]

That was a long time ago. Doesn't excuse what I did back then, but things have changed.

[He's changed. She's changed. If anyone had a right to hate him, it was Xion, and she sure didn't.]

"That's it?" [He snorts, kicking the next shambler and then eblowing Riku in the back lightly to brace himself on this jump kick which dislocates the, well, head of the one behind it]

That's just excuses all over again, scum.

I'm not even trying to make excuses here.

[He does brace himself-- it'd be foolish not to, but he finds it hard not to shoot an irritated look Masaomi's way.

Fortunately, he resists that urge.]

What I did was wrong, but you weren't involved, and you don't even know the whole story. What happened then was between me and Xion, and we've already gotten past that.

Yeah, and I haven't! [Punch! And then he shifts his position clockwise, knowing Riku will do the same] Which is why I'm going to punch you in the face and let it go.

[Well, that's... unexpected. All this talk of hate, and he's willing to just... let go? It's almost contrary, leaving Riku unsure of how to respond.

So for now he'll just follow Masaomi's lead and strike at another enemy.]

[He grins, more earnestly, as he keeps in motion with Riku] After all, Xion-chan asked me to. And besides... it's bad for my blood pressure.

[...Pffft. Riku snickers in response before slamming his elbow into another enemy.]

Well, I'll try not to make it too unbearable.

Good man! [The battle is rejoined! Though really, this current battle isn't going to last all that much longer. The crowd's already thinning]

[Well, Riku will save any words until after the quarrel, focusing on slicing and dicing his foes until the crowd finally withers to nothing.]

[And when there's nothing left, Masaomi's first thing is-] Riku-san, get the kerosene.

[And he goes out to pull Asuma's Lighter]

I'm on it.

[Just let him wade his way through the corpses here. Once he finds the Kerosene, he'll scoop it up and toss it Masaomi's way.]

[Alright. Let's douse these corpses with a nice layer, and... He goes to crouch the light near enough to light it on fire. Fortunately, his gloves are flame retardant, but he still lights his pants up a bit. He puts it out quick, but now the air's thick with burning body smell. It's gross, honestly]

[Ugh. He picked a really bad time to wear a sleeveless top, clearly.

The smell of smoke prompts Riku to cover his mouth, stifling a cough. Man, that's nasty. The stench alone makes him wince.]

Think we should slip into another room?

[Burning corpses don't do much to set the mood, anyway.]

No. Well, you can, but I'm to stand guard outside until I can't afford to.

[For his part, he doesn't cover his mouth. It's burning his nostrils, and he probably did vomit the first time he did this... but it's necessary. He can even see some of them moving in the flames, trying desperately to keep crawling despite already being dead.

Disgusting, really.]

Hm.

[Well, there's no telling what'll happen just yet. Rather than flee, Riku leans back against a wall, eyes closed.]

Not a bad approach. For all we know, that could've just been a warm up.

Mmmhm. [He stares more into the flames. It's sort of gross, still, watching the last of people burn there. Oh well...]

Doesn't it bother you?

[Watching the fire. Watching them burn...

There's a reason why he's closed his eyes.]

I think I'd have to be soulless for it not to. But this is as close to a funeral as these SOBs are getting, right? So someone's gotta watch it.

[The movement, at least, has stopped.

But the smell, oh man the small]

[Hah. That's some serious irony there. But then, they weren't always mindless infected.

Maybe it is better than turning a blind eye.

All the same, Riku remains still, mouth and nose covered to block most of the stench. If only he had his powers right now...]

Yeah.

[He stares a moment longer, considering... considering...

And then he exhales. He turns to face Riku now, and-]

[And then cocks his arm back and in one swift movement she goes to punch Riku in the face]

[Riku knew it'd happen sooner or later, but he sure didn't expect it this quickly.

He clenches his jaw, wincing, but otherwise remains firmly in place. As much as that hurt, he's been through so much worse. A punch really is nothing compared to the fists of a giant Heartless or Dream Eater or Xemnas' ethereal blades.

So, once the initial shock wears off, Riku brings one hand to his cheek and shrugs.]
