Summary: Several people have received simple, written invitations asking them to meet at the rec center for a proposal.

[This is the log in which Shikamaru collects people and they get to talking about the task at hand for disseminating information, and possibly recruits them into the agency thereafter if they're still interested. People will likely be showing up at different times, so he speaks to everyone one-on-one instead of in a group.

The proposal will be offered to each character who shows up casually - no hard feelings whatever you decide to do - but with firmness. This is a group that will be dedicated to intelligence research and analysis, not information gathering. It's nothing flashy or exciting, but he expects discretion and it's a job that shouldn't be taken lightly. Those who accept the offer will be told things should be up and running withing two weeks.]

I don't need information gatherers, though there's no rule against it. We'll be relying on outside sources for that, however. As I said, our prime focus will be research and analysis.

You'd focus on certain categories of intelligence. After verifying whether or not they're legitimate, you might look into it more and look to make connections. There'd be two meetings a week to work with others in the group, but you'd be free to pursue it individually as well.

[Alexei was a bit puzzled by the invitation at first, but he'll end up attending this meeting out of curiosity. He didn't exactly know the individual who had sent the invitation, but he has seen him around on the journals.

If he gets anything out of this, he'll at least be acquainted with Shikarmaru. He'll arrive at the rec center on time will talk to whomever approaches him...as he won't exactly recognize Shikamaru right away.]

[Molly arrived uncharacteristically late. It was the same day she'd returned from a mission and this invitation was the last thing she expected. She was just too curious to pass this up, despite the time. So about twenty minutes in, Molly will very quietly appear in the room - it's almost as if the area around her was making no sound at all! She goes to stand in the back.]

Well, it's safe to say my interest is piqued at least. [She regards him thoughtfully for a moment, a slight frown on her lips. It was certainly within the realm of things she'd done for SHIELD, but she wasn't one for making snap decisions, either. Plus, that was Coulson over there, which meant he was being courted for this as well and she wanted his opinion before agreeing to anything.]

Might I have a day or two to think it over?

RIGHT. Alexei was one of Shikamaru's stranger invites. Some time ago, when Shikamaru was the one to maintain the "villain list", Alexei's was one of the names on it albeit on a lower tier. Despite this, he's seen him make himself useful on the locked network, so it seems he has good organizational skills...

Only a conversation will tell if he's trustworthy, even if he has to go about this differently.]

Ignoring all the pleasantries... I'm considering getting together an intelligence agency. Someone like you could see that value that would have here, no doubt.

A lot of this is gonna be research and analysis, but our information will cover a wide variety of categories. I'll be needing people who specialize in certain fields, or at the least consultants willing to shed some insight into things.

You have a lot of experience with technology. And you've been a part of a big discovery in this place. If you don't mind the work, you'd be pretty valuable to this.
