Summary: Several people have received simple, written invitations asking them to meet at the rec center for a proposal.

[This is the log in which Shikamaru collects people and they get to talking about the task at hand for disseminating information, and possibly recruits them into the agency thereafter if they're still interested. People will likely be showing up at different times, so he speaks to everyone one-on-one instead of in a group.

The proposal will be offered to each character who shows up casually - no hard feelings whatever you decide to do - but with firmness. This is a group that will be dedicated to intelligence research and analysis, not information gathering. It's nothing flashy or exciting, but he expects discretion and it's a job that shouldn't be taken lightly. Those who accept the offer will be told things should be up and running withing two weeks.]

[Shikamaru will be at the rec center the entire four hours as stated on the invitations, cleaned up from pirate vs. ninja dodgeball even.

Most of what he goes into involves the reasons why this organization is needed, their goals as he sees them, and a little bit into what the process will be like (without set locations given).]

[A proposal, hmm? That written invitation piqued Gai's interest, no doubt of that. He's no stranger to proposals and negotiations, though he hadn't been expecting to receive one here in Luceti, where he isn't the leader of Funeral Parlor, just another experimental subject.

But he'll show up right at 6, dressed casually rather than in his Funeral Parlor uniform. So. Propose away, Shikamaru, Gai is all ears.]

[Leonhardt is definitely horribly predictably punctual and shows up exactly right on the dot at 6pm. Bad habit of his, but that's just the way he is.

He did come prepared for dealing with his lovely penalty and once Shikamaru comes over to him he'll hold up a paper that says "My responses will have to be written due to a penalty that took my voice." He has a small dry erase board now to write responses so they can be erased later, but the paper is more so he can quickly communicate his now lack of a voice.

Obviously discretion is rather easy when one cannot even talk right now.]

[Precis shows up late, and when she does, she's wearing her work clothes and a jacket. She has a few oil stains and tears on them, but this is what happens when you work with machines all day. Hell, she wasn't even sure if she should show up at all. "I've got a proposal for you." signed with Shikamaru's name? He's a nice guy, but she's not interested in that kind of thing.

She might be the last person Shikamaru sees, because it's a long walk from House 59 to the Rec Center. She doesn't even leave until after nine, but she's just going to lay down the law as soon as she's inside.]

Okay. Let me just...I'm really flattered, Shikamaru, but this is really sudden.

[Albert folds up his note right before he heads into the rec center later in the evening, having a feeling he knows what this is about simply because of who had sent the invitation. So he says nothing as he enters the building, instead looking around for Shikamaru.]

[Yuffie being Yuffie is unable to pass up any secrety note. Even if that means showing up all colorful from that dodgeball game. Which means she might be showing up a bit before 10.

She won't make much of an entrance, only walking in, and waiting to see who comes up to her.]

[Ami is prompt by nature and habit, and this time is no exception. After all, this is the type of group that she believes has a chance to make progress, a group devote to research and analysis. She stays a bit to the side of things, rarely approaching anyone but polite enough when approached. The only one she particularly seeks out is Shikamaru; it'd be rude not to, when he gave the invitations.]

[Lupin skated into the building a bit later than was considered 'fashionable' because of his own reservations, which were largely a reaction to the proposal. He trusted Shikamaru, but he didn't trust himself to take on other projects, especially not when he had so many other ideas that he needed to sort through.

But he was interested despite his hesitation. Shikamaru was a good resource, and he had offered his aid several months ago.

He was determined to just listen and think on the information before he made a decision, but he had a feeling that he would accept any offers just to prove himself wrong.]

[Coulson arrives at the rec center not at six on the dot but not long after either.

The message he had received had peaked his interest. So had the young man in question.

It couldn't hurt to hear the proposal. And see who else was interested.]

[Natasha had gotten passed the message about this meeting and she shows up right around the time indicated in the message. It isn't hard to find out who set this up and she waits until he's finished talking to someone else before approaching.]

Are you Shikamaru?

[Jiraiya saunters in near the end of Shikamaru's available time, looking as though he hasn't got a single concern in the world. His pipe isn't in immediate evidence, but a light smell of tobacco hangs around him, evidence that he was smoking recently.]

So what's this you've got your mind on, then?

[They haven't talked much outside of one or two missions. In all honesty, she's not entirely sure why she was summoned here.

But there's an irresistible tug to intrigue like this. Of course she's going.]

[Alexei was a bit puzzled by the invitation at first, but he'll end up attending this meeting out of curiosity. He didn't exactly know the individual who had sent the invitation, but he has seen him around on the journals.

If he gets anything out of this, he'll at least be acquainted with Shikarmaru. He'll arrive at the rec center on time will talk to whomever approaches him...as he won't exactly recognize Shikamaru right away.]

[The best way to show her intent to not cause problems is to help with finding solutions. She can fight, yes, but this is an area where her skills can shine.

She has to admit, she was a little impressed that Shikamaru managed to figure out that she could use her origami as an extension of her senses. Especially since she never made his gift move around as she does with her butterflies.

When she decides to signal to Shikamaru that she's shown up, she lets a blank sheet of paper drift lazily through the room as if carried by a current of wind until it lands on his arm. She'll wait patiently while he finishes up with whomever he's speaking to, trusting that the unwritten and unspoken message has been received.]

[Not wanting to look any different to the person he's talking to, Shikamaru plucks the paper off his arm and holds it, making a joke about the breeze in here.

When he's finished up his conversation, he waves aways and treks... hm. The 'breeze' came from this way, but that would be obvious. He heads for a least populated area, over by the books in the rec center.]
