Summary: Several people have received simple, written invitations asking them to meet at the rec center for a proposal.

[This is the log in which Shikamaru collects people and they get to talking about the task at hand for disseminating information, and possibly recruits them into the agency thereafter if they're still interested. People will likely be showing up at different times, so he speaks to everyone one-on-one instead of in a group.

The proposal will be offered to each character who shows up casually - no hard feelings whatever you decide to do - but with firmness. This is a group that will be dedicated to intelligence research and analysis, not information gathering. It's nothing flashy or exciting, but he expects discretion and it's a job that shouldn't be taken lightly. Those who accept the offer will be told things should be up and running withing two weeks.]

[Shikamaru will be at the rec center the entire four hours as stated on the invitations, cleaned up from pirate vs. ninja dodgeball even.

Most of what he goes into involves the reasons why this organization is needed, their goals as he sees them, and a little bit into what the process will be like (without set locations given).]

[A proposal, hmm? That written invitation piqued Gai's interest, no doubt of that. He's no stranger to proposals and negotiations, though he hadn't been expecting to receive one here in Luceti, where he isn't the leader of Funeral Parlor, just another experimental subject.

But he'll show up right at 6, dressed casually rather than in his Funeral Parlor uniform. So. Propose away, Shikamaru, Gai is all ears.]

[Damn, the one guy he hoped wouldn't show. /kids

Shikamaru's in his typical shinobi garb, seeing as his casual clothes were ruined by paint today. He nods when Gai comes in.]

Yo. You're the first one to show up.

Oh? Maybe I should've opted for "fashionably late" after all.

[Except he prefers it this way; until he knows what this proposal is, he'd rather not have others overhearing.]

[Leonhardt is definitely horribly predictably punctual and shows up exactly right on the dot at 6pm. Bad habit of his, but that's just the way he is.

He did come prepared for dealing with his lovely penalty and once Shikamaru comes over to him he'll hold up a paper that says "My responses will have to be written due to a penalty that took my voice." He has a small dry erase board now to write responses so they can be erased later, but the paper is more so he can quickly communicate his now lack of a voice.

Obviously discretion is rather easy when one cannot even talk right now.]

[Precis shows up late, and when she does, she's wearing her work clothes and a jacket. She has a few oil stains and tears on them, but this is what happens when you work with machines all day. Hell, she wasn't even sure if she should show up at all. "I've got a proposal for you." signed with Shikamaru's name? He's a nice guy, but she's not interested in that kind of thing.

She might be the last person Shikamaru sees, because it's a long walk from House 59 to the Rec Center. She doesn't even leave until after nine, but she's just going to lay down the law as soon as she's inside.]

Okay. Let me just...I'm really flattered, Shikamaru, but this is really sudden.

[Albert folds up his note right before he heads into the rec center later in the evening, having a feeling he knows what this is about simply because of who had sent the invitation. So he says nothing as he enters the building, instead looking around for Shikamaru.]

[Yuffie being Yuffie is unable to pass up any secrety note. Even if that means showing up all colorful from that dodgeball game. Which means she might be showing up a bit before 10.

She won't make much of an entrance, only walking in, and waiting to see who comes up to her.]

[Ami is prompt by nature and habit, and this time is no exception. After all, this is the type of group that she believes has a chance to make progress, a group devote to research and analysis. She stays a bit to the side of things, rarely approaching anyone but polite enough when approached. The only one she particularly seeks out is Shikamaru; it'd be rude not to, when he gave the invitations.]

[Lupin skated into the building a bit later than was considered 'fashionable' because of his own reservations, which were largely a reaction to the proposal. He trusted Shikamaru, but he didn't trust himself to take on other projects, especially not when he had so many other ideas that he needed to sort through.

But he was interested despite his hesitation. Shikamaru was a good resource, and he had offered his aid several months ago.

He was determined to just listen and think on the information before he made a decision, but he had a feeling that he would accept any offers just to prove himself wrong.]

Heh. Well let's not waste time.

[A casual glance around the room, and then he gets straight to business.] A while ago, it was suggested to me that Luceti might benefit from having a group dedicated to analysis and research. Going on missions all the time like you and me do, we know there's a lot to learn.

[Shikamaru reads it and nods, gesturing for them both to take a seat. Writing on something is troublesome when you're standing up, after all.]

I caught that, on the journals.

[The sympathy goes unsaid. He's met enough people who've died to know that gets tiresome, which is why he didn't respond to that entry then. There's not a lot else you can say to things like that, and if that's all you have to offer, you don't know them well enough to be any help anyways.]

[Shikamaru finishes seeing off the last person- oh wait one more. It was getting late, but he's glad she showed up. Until she opened her mouth.]

[Coulson arrives at the rec center not at six on the dot but not long after either.

The message he had received had peaked his interest. So had the young man in question.

It couldn't hurt to hear the proposal. And see who else was interested.]

[Albert possibly might have been one of the few people he would've hunted down even if he hadn't shown up. Not out of the need to have him, of course, even if it would make things easier. No, mostly it's because of his attitude to it all.

To make sure he didn't have to go to the troublesome task of seeking him out (again), Albert's invitation was probably the vaguest of them all just to make sure he'd be interested enough to show up. AND IT PAID OFF, MWAHAHA. Shikamaru waves him over.]

Albert. How's the bird?

[Fun fact: Shikamaru had meant to hold this meeting at the barracks until he remembered it'd probably still be in use as the pirate's (huff) base in that game. Having been involved earlier, he has a good guess what she was up to earlier.]

[And Shikamaru will be over here! Apparently a few people showed up earlier, which is nice, so he has to talk to a few people before her. Even so, he seems to be keeping track of who arrived and doesn't keep anyone waiting for long, Ami included.]
