Happy Happy Turkey Day

Who: Marvel people plus friends. I'm not even attempting to make this list out.
What: Marvelsgiving!
When: November 22, 2012
Where: House 49
Summary: It's Thanksgiving. There's a meal and socializing. Also fun.
Rating: PG, PG-13 max? A kid got invited to this.
Considering how last minute all of this had been, Pepper was actually pretty satisfied with how things were turning out. Rogue had shown up early with helpers in tow, immediately setting to work in the kitchen. The house had been filled with delicious aromas shortly thereafter, and Pepper busied herself with the other details until guests started to arrive--at which point part of her job became keeping people out of the kitchen, per Rogue's orders.

The set up was straightforward: the dining room table was used to hold the assorted dishes, where people could fix themselves plates. A similar set up with drinks (although please, don't give alcohol to the children). Chairs set out for people to sit, since there were too many to even attempt a traditional sit down dinner. But that was fine by Pepper, who made her way through the group, making sure everyone was happy, or at least not destroying part of her house.

Better safe than sorry, with this crowd.

"Aww, I'm sorry to hear it. I hope it doesn't take too long to heal." Because boy, can he relate. Bullets are very much not fun. "Did you just get back? It's a good thing you didn't miss this. It looks like everyone worked really hard on it."

"A day or so ago, now. Were we on Earth, this may take some time to heal. But the sort of healing available here in Luceti is capable of much more, at a faster rate, thankfully." Something she was grateful for, really.

"And I do not think Rogue would forgive me if I missed this dinner." She chuckles a little bit. Her teammate had worked far too hard on this.

"Don't think I could blame her. She must've been preparing for days." Okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but a totally appropriate one, for sure. It seemed like she was working all the way up until the very last minute. "She a friend from home?"

"Yes. A student, to be technical, but certainly a friend." Storm looks around the room until she spots Rogue, fretting about some dish or the other on the table. She smiles fondly.

"I thought so. I could tell by the way you talked about her just now." He sounds a little proud of himself for being able to figure that out, even if it wasn't difficult to discern. "I'm not sure I would've guessed you to be a teacher, though."

"Fancy and luxurious?" Ororo chuckles. "I didn't think I gave that impression." She's been a lot of things, including a goddess, but she could hardly call that a luxurious lifestyle.

"I don't know what it is. Just somethin' about you." Then again, it could just be that she's so very different from the kinds of women he was around growing up. She doesn't have very much competition, that's for sure! "So what kinda stuff did you teach?"

"Well, certainly nothing quite so fancy and luxurious, I'm afraid." She smiled teasingly. "Where Rogue and I come from, people with certain, special gifts are only just emerging. For most, these powers manifest in their early adolescence. Logan and I make sure that these young people learn to control these abilities, and how to use them wisely."

Okay, color him (even more) impressed. Can she be anymore awesome? He's not necessarily surprised, because it sounds so right for her now that she's mentioned it, but it's still really awesome.

"Maybe it ain't fancy, but it sounds pretty cool to me. That's not something that just anyone can do, ya know? I bet you make a great teacher, Ororo."

"Well, you will have to ask Rogue or Kurt on whether or not I am. But thank you for the vote of confidence, Robin. I appreciate it." Especially since technically, teaching was not what she signed up for when Charles asked her to join him.
