Summary: It's Thanksgiving. There's a meal and socializing. Also fun.
Rating: PG, PG-13 max? A kid got invited to this.
Considering how last minute all of this had been, Pepper was actually pretty satisfied with how things were turning out. Rogue had shown up early with helpers in tow, immediately setting to work in the kitchen. The house had been filled with delicious aromas shortly thereafter, and Pepper busied herself with the other details until guests started to arrive--at which point part of her job became keeping people out of the kitchen, per Rogue's orders.

The set up was straightforward: the dining room table was used to hold the assorted dishes, where people could fix themselves plates. A similar set up with drinks (although please, don't give alcohol to the children). Chairs set out for people to sit, since there were too many to even attempt a traditional sit down dinner. But that was fine by Pepper, who made her way through the group, making sure everyone was happy, or at least not destroying part of her house.

Better safe than sorry, with this crowd.

"I dunno." He tilts his head, thinking it over for a moment. "Something fancy, probably. Something a little more luxurious."

"Fancy and luxurious?" Ororo chuckles. "I didn't think I gave that impression." She's been a lot of things, including a goddess, but she could hardly call that a luxurious lifestyle.

"I don't know what it is. Just somethin' about you." Then again, it could just be that she's so very different from the kinds of women he was around growing up. She doesn't have very much competition, that's for sure! "So what kinda stuff did you teach?"

"Well, certainly nothing quite so fancy and luxurious, I'm afraid." She smiled teasingly. "Where Rogue and I come from, people with certain, special gifts are only just emerging. For most, these powers manifest in their early adolescence. Logan and I make sure that these young people learn to control these abilities, and how to use them wisely."

Okay, color him (even more) impressed. Can she be anymore awesome? He's not necessarily surprised, because it sounds so right for her now that she's mentioned it, but it's still really awesome.

"Maybe it ain't fancy, but it sounds pretty cool to me. That's not something that just anyone can do, ya know? I bet you make a great teacher, Ororo."

"Well, you will have to ask Rogue or Kurt on whether or not I am. But thank you for the vote of confidence, Robin. I appreciate it." Especially since technically, teaching was not what she signed up for when Charles asked her to join him.
