Happy Happy Turkey Day

Summary: It's Thanksgiving. There's a meal and socializing. Also fun.
Rating: PG, PG-13 max? A kid got invited to this.
Considering how last minute all of this had been, Pepper was actually pretty satisfied with how things were turning out. Rogue had shown up early with helpers in tow, immediately setting to work in the kitchen. The house had been filled with delicious aromas shortly thereafter, and Pepper busied herself with the other details until guests started to arrive--at which point part of her job became keeping people out of the kitchen, per Rogue's orders.

The set up was straightforward: the dining room table was used to hold the assorted dishes, where people could fix themselves plates. A similar set up with drinks (although please, don't give alcohol to the children). Chairs set out for people to sit, since there were too many to even attempt a traditional sit down dinner. But that was fine by Pepper, who made her way through the group, making sure everyone was happy, or at least not destroying part of her house.

Better safe than sorry, with this crowd.

"Well, I'm sure they do somewhere," he replies with a grin. "Never been brave enough to try snake. Did try kangaroo once."

This is a thing that is now happening, Jane. He hopes that you will enjoy your plushie Christmas snake complete with Santa hat.

"Uh, yeah. He's here. Arrived a couple of weeks ago. He doesn't have your friend's iPod so don't even ask."

That pulls a brief laugh out of her. Thank you for keeping the situation light, Clint.

"I had no idea. I'll have to talk to him. He's not really in a position to steal my stuff anymore, is he?" Said rather dryly, though not without a hint of humor.

He smiles warmly in return when she laughs. "He doesn't usually go into the whole gratuitous theft thing normally. New Mexico was just... everyone was having a really bad week." Hulk and the Abomination rampaging around New York, Stark going crazy and all the stuff in the Arctic....

"Although if you do try to sneak into a top secret base again, I'm gonna have to insist you get me or Tasha to help out. It'll be fun."

"Aiding and abetting theft?" Jane lifts her eyebrows, the corners of her mouth drawing down in a thoughtful, considering frown that is not in the least bit serious. "Nice. Guess I shouldn't expect anything different by now, huh?"

Clint shrugs one shoulder, giving her a disarming smile. "We have to have some entertainment," he said, amused. "Breaking into secret bases is always a blast. It'll be a good team bonding experience."
