Summary: It's Thanksgiving. There's a meal and socializing. Also fun.
Rating: PG, PG-13 max? A kid got invited to this.
Considering how last minute all of this had been, Pepper was actually pretty satisfied with how things were turning out. Rogue had shown up early with helpers in tow, immediately setting to work in the kitchen. The house had been filled with delicious aromas shortly thereafter, and Pepper busied herself with the other details until guests started to arrive--at which point part of her job became keeping people out of the kitchen, per Rogue's orders.

The set up was straightforward: the dining room table was used to hold the assorted dishes, where people could fix themselves plates. A similar set up with drinks (although please, don't give alcohol to the children). Chairs set out for people to sit, since there were too many to even attempt a traditional sit down dinner. But that was fine by Pepper, who made her way through the group, making sure everyone was happy, or at least not destroying part of her house.

Better safe than sorry, with this crowd.

"We got a day in between missions," Clint replies with a grin. "Watched bad movies and then shipped out for somewhere godawful and classified 4am the next day."

"What about Christmas? An hour to exchange hand-knitted sweaters before averting global disasters?"

"She got me a flak jacket. I got her a box of grenades. It was all very festive."

"Sounds like it. I hope you put some on the tree - grenades, I mean."

"Oh, we did. Decorated the tree in the lobby of SHIELD HQ with them. It was so pretty."

"I bet you watch Die Hard every year, too." It was only the best Christmas movie, after all. "That ought to be a tradition we carry on."

"I'd be up for that. Who doesn't like a little explosion fest with their peace and goodwill to all men?"

"No one with good taste. And therefore not invited to our Christmas party."

"Great. That's settled then. I'll bring the popcorn, you bring the beer, I'll get Tasha to promise not to criticise the whole plot and explain how she could have taken the bad guys down using only a toothpick."

"...Does she do that?" Now he's curious. Sounds like some pretty entertaining running commentary.

"Take bad guys down using only a toothpick? Sure. Most of the time, she doesn't even need the toothpick." He grins, knowing that's exactly not what Tony meant, and takes a swallow of his beer.

"Sometimes. I shout at movies with archery in them. We both do it with spy movies. James Bond movies are a riot."

Well played. Tony sipped his whiskey in tandem.

"You know, I'm not sure if that'd be amusing or annoying. Just might have to try it sometime to find out."

"We'll make sure to invite you to movie night if we manage one. We take requests, but you have to bring snack food."

"Can I reprise the cereal, or is that out now?"

"As long as at least one of them contains marshmallows then I think we're good."

"Only the best do."

"I knew you'd understand. We have standards to keep up after all."

"If this Avengers thing really takes off, maybe we can even get a cereal of our own."

The highest form of flattery, obviously.

"I can picture it now. Tiny cereal shapes, hammers and arrows and... what would yours be shaped like anyway? doused in a tooth rotting amount of sugar."

He can see this taking off.

"A bottle of scotch. Or the helmet, I suppose."

"Probably the helmet. Has to be kid-friendly and all. The merchandisers would insist on it.

...we might get a Saturday morning cartoon."

A Saturday morning cartoon? Then they'd really sterilize his personality. "Only if I get some creative input."

"I think in that case it might have to be more of a Saturday night cartoon. One of the ones they show at 1am for the college students."

A sagely nod. Not like he often had those on for background noise in his workshop back home or anything. "Great. First thing we do when we bust out of here. Pitch our television show."

"That should absolutely be our top priority. Stoned undergrads deserve to hear about our exploits."
